“I got 2.49% on my Model S a few days ago, but I assumed that was because I was financing pretty much all of it. It’s basically free money at 2.49%…”

Yep same here - 2.49% for 72 months for 90% of the value. I’d rather invest the cash in TSLA - it’s bound to appreciate more than 3% a year over the next 6 years, right? (Maybe need a bit more to pay capital gains tax).

Thanks for your detailed explanations about detailing! Glad that mudflaps are up next. I plan to install them when I take delivery (December???) , but hesitated to mention them in this forum as it would be considered 'heresy' by many on such a beautiful vehicle!

@omarsultan, thank you. Perfect info. Winter weather in Texas ranges from 55 degrees, much like Cali, to Snowpocalypse conditions (e.g. Feb 14-20, 2021). Plugging into a 110 outlet while the car sits wouldn't be doable, as it's a public garage and it would almost assuredly get stolen if I could park near one! lol. I will def turn off Summons and Cabin Overheat because I don't need the one and the garage is covered so albeit really hot in Texas, overheat shouldn't be an issue, I hope. Lastly, when you say "take it easy on speed" that's a little incongruous with Texas speed limits!! lol. Most interstates are 75mph, some as high as 85mph, and 5mph over is allowable by the Troopers, so Cruise Control on 80mph is usually my go-to, but getting home without depleting my battery weekly will take priority. If I ever get the car, I'm sure there will be a learning curve and I'm taking/keeping all the notes I get from all the OGs on here!! Thanks again sir.
I hear ya--my thought is maybe keep it around 70 for your outbound leg and see how your range holds ups. Without the energy app, we are all flying a little blind, which kinda sucks. You can then make adjustments on speed on the way back and for subsequent trips. Alos a good time to load the PlugShare app on your phone. At those speeds, wind resistance increases as a square (approx) of speed, so a 10 mph difference in speed can make a big difference either way.

My own story about this: my office is 220 miles round trip to the Bay Area and my P85 had a range of 265 miles, so I had 40 miles to play with (this was 2013 so there zero charging infra on the route). My first trip, I was so paranoid I think I drove 60 the entire way down. My wife thought EVs were a science project back then and if I had to be flat-bedded home, I would *never* hear the end of it. Luckily, the car did fine and I was able to drive 65 on the way back and rolled into the garage with 20 miles of range. Luckily the Fremont Supercharge opened a couple of months later. :)

BofA is giving me 1.89% on $100k will just use the cash in the market. Can pretty much gurantee above 2%.. Well at least they were, but who knows when I'll have a car!

It's funny, I was (still am for now!) Paying $1050 per 6 months for insurance on my M3P from Tesla. Was the cheapest I could get in 1019. For reference I am 28 with a perfect driving record. Wonder what the Plaid will be if I choose it over the LR. Hopefully cheaper!

Lunch break. Got 2nd coat of ceramic on. Installed front flaps and one rear. Second rear after lunch, then third and last ceramic coat. Pictures after than. Until then, for the 19 nuts, here are some pics. :p
