Thank you for taking the time to write to me regarding the Electric and Hydrogen Vehicle Incentive Program.
On July 3, 2018, our government cancelled the cap and trade carbon tax as part of its commitment to bring gas prices down by 10 cents a litre and help reduce costs for Ontario families and businesses by $1.9 billion dollars per year.
As the Electric and Hydrogen Vehicle Incentive Program and the Electric Vehicle Charging Incentive Programs were funded through cap-and-trade proceeds, these programs have been cancelled with an orderly wind-down.
All vehicles that were delivered, registered and plated by July 11 will have the incentive honoured. For more information please visit www.ontario.ca/electricvehicles<electricvehicles>.
As well, dealerships who have inventory on lots or have ordered vehicles by July 11, and deliver, register and plate to consumers by September 10 will also have the incentive honoured.
Our government does not believe it’s right to finance a program by imposing a carbon tax on every Ontario resident. And that’s why the cap and trade has been cancelled and its programs are winding down.
Our focus will be to give people lower gas prices, lower energy bills and a real break in their wallets in order to get our economy going and create jobs.

Lower gas prices when they've delayed long enough to pay for their federal lawsuit.
Only delay it long enough for the Federal Liberals to get voted out also.

6. Consultation plan and timelines
This discussion paper solicits preliminary input on key factors relevant to the Canadian mid-term evaluation. Once the factors identified in this document and related stakeholder input have been considered, a determination will be made on the appropriateness of the current standards for the 2022 to 2025 model years in Canada. If it is determined that regulatory amendments are warranted, the department will engage in additional consultations focused on the specific details of possible changes to Canada’s greenhouse gas emission standards for light-duty vehicles. During these consultations, Environment and Climate Change Canada will consider developments in the U.S. rulemaking process, summarize the feedback provided via stakeholder responses to this discussion paper and explain how stakeholder feedback was used to inform its evaluation.
6.1 How to submit comments
Comments may be submitted to [email protected] by September 28, 2018. Submissions should begin with the phrase “Mid-term Evaluation Comment” in the subject line of the email to help ensure they are appropriately tracked and considered.

I just got a delivery call today. I was told a bunch of cars coming by the end of the quarter. Mine
was estimated for mid-September. I just finished cancelling my order as my car may not come in
time. Not sure why Tesla didn't speed up delivery. Perhaps they will still ump up orders if they
win the lawsuit, but I am not optomistic. Good luck to all!!

Picked up my Ford Fusion Energi today, I really love the electric feel, no it doesn’t have the same cool tech or the quick acceleration or full range battery, but I’ve been able to drive around my suburb all day on the battery alone and the price just can’t be beat at a top end setup at $28,000 compared to the $64,100 of the model 3. 35 KM range on full charge (plus regen braking) and the ability for 110 or 240 charge, great luxurious car as a daily driver. Got black rims with white car so it’s a sharp looking car too, similar to curves of Model S.
For anyone who cancelled that can’t afford the Tesla anymore I would highly recommend looking into one of these. Only a couple of more weeks left.
I will say the customer service working with a dealer was refreshing as well, no 90 minutes call wait time, no months to get refunds. Communication at all steps of the purchase....weird

This is an inevitable outcome so good luck with it. Though my refund was surprisingly quick if that's what you are referring to. There are pros and cons to most all decisions. I have a very nice hybrid now and with my commute, a PHEV wouldn't really accomplish that much more. Every little bit helps though so regardless of your rationale, the environment is rewarded and good on you.
It's easy to forget but Tesla is really just a small car company trying to become the first new N/A mfg in 110 years. I cut them some slack.
Ford's a great company though. I was behind a white Fusion on the way home tonight. It's not a bad looking car.

Congrats on your purchases but nothing beats a Tesla. I understand those consumers who have had to cancel because I agree it’s quite a premium to pay.
So far, Tesla has done everything they can to help their consumers and I believe they will make every effort to get deliveries before Sept 10th. Tesla has a strong case and there is no guarantee they will win but I’ll be shocked if they lose.

I’m 3 weeks since I requested a refund and not a penny back, not sure that is doing everything they can do. Within 60 seconds they had the money out of my account but now 3 weeks and ticking to put it back in.
Even if they win (which zero chance comes before Sep 10) there is no guarantee the customers get the $14,000 and even less chance that people who had to cancel as they could no longer afford actually see any benefit.
