That's odd. I thought only 7.11 allowed v3 and 145kW v2 charging. I have not heard of anyone w/o 7.11 getting more than 120kW at the chargers around town that those with 7.11 have gotten the full ~145kW out of.

Makes me wanna drive down to LA to test it out, but I am sure the site will be swamped the next few days if anyone with 19.8.5 can experience the 1000 MPH speeds.

I was only able to get up to 126kw on the up taper then it settled at 120kw for a good amount of time. Charge was started at ~30% soc.

Im on 2019.8.3 however.

run the car lower for more kw

Friend of mine running 2019.8.5 just plugged in to both of the v3 stalls only to get a max of 98kw while starting at ~25% soc.

I also noticed theres is this sticker attached perhaps indicating the charge level has been reduced to 120kw output?

Zero difference charging at a v3 pedestal here than before. None. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zed.

And I’m not holding my breath for that to change. In fact, I expect to get my (FSD) board swap via a mobile tech in 12-18 months and doubt v3 chargers will be of any direct benefit to this barely 2-year old Model S even then.

Indirectly, anything that gets Model 3s out of the queue faster is of some benefit, so there’s that.

But still.

I visited the Hawthorne SC yesterday and discovered that the V3 supercharger furthest from design studio entrance is out of service. The other one had a cone in front but the friendly security guard said I was more than happy to give it a shot. My Model 3 w/ 2019.12.1.2 and a SoC of ~35% was only able to pull ~120kW. With that said since it is dedicated power to the stall it beat the other V2 superchargers in terms of charge rate since the place was constantly full.

No luck with V3 today, my model 3 should be ready for the high power supercharger. The NAV shows up to 250 kW. I could only use the rightmost pedestal (west). I plugged it in and got “unable to charge check charging equipment” and the dreaded red T. There was another 3 in the left V3 stall, he never got out so I don’t know how fast he charged.
