Well I can't take credit, received the photo via email.

Exciting though, I know folks in Australia have been waiting a long time.

Congrats Australia, on starting your supercharger network. May your journey be less painful than our experience here in Canada! !

TESLARATI and JET Charge are both sending live tweets with photo's from the launch event in Sydney, Australia.

On one photo we see the Australia Supercharger Network 2016 Roadmap. We see 16 red balloons on the East Coast of Australia from Melbourne to Brisbane and a bit further norht.

The first two Supercharger stations in Australia will be in Sydney: the star casino, then the store in St Leonard's.

I assume Teslarati won't mind a direct link to the photo.

I renamed this thread for consistency with other Supercharger threads.

    - - - Updated - - -

I visited St Leonards last Sunday on my way to the West Gosford meet and only 2 Supercharger bays are in operation, three have covers with "Coming Soon" written on them. Apparently they are waiting on a new sub station before they can enable the remaining bays.

I was at St Leonards today for Tesla to rotate the wheels and noticed the new Sub Station is in place. It is around the corner in Frederick Street but is not yet active.
I'll try and get a Pic when I go back later today.

Thanks for that update meloccom. I had always noticed the covers on the superchargers whenever I visited the store and never piped up to enquire about them. So now I know.

So don't know if this is new news or not but a friend of mine was charging at St Leonard's this afternoon and was getting a charging rate of 600Km/Hr, the fastest I had ever seen before was something in the 400s. Must be due to the electrical upgrade being completed?

That's a shy over 100kW so perhaps it can draw that much when the showroom is completely closed. However, it should be able to pull 120kW at that state of charge, so I assume upgrades are not complete.

Not this morning it didn't. was getting 150 km/hr. About the usual. The new substation is nowhere near ready yet. Went to look. huge cables being stripped and spliced.

I believe it is because the battery was nearly flat. In that case the supercharger can really ramp up production without any fear of overcharging the battery. It slows down progressively as the battery charges.
