Has anyone else noticed this. The actual registration form Tesla sent says its a 2023 year. The DOT registration lookup says its 2024. The paperwork Tesla provided says 2024 as well.
Be aware of this. We've insured ours as a 2023 but I'm going to change it to what its registered as.

I haven't collected my car yet but the rego paper form I signed was 2023 and the tax invoice says 2023. However I have heard many are registered as 2024 on delivery day. This is a good thing if true, because insurance on a 2023 costs more for the same agreed value than a 2024

As cars depreciate, the agreed value bands adjust. Therefore to insure for the same value you would be higher on the 2023 "range" than 2024 - therefore higher premiums.
Also they probably have data showing as a car ages its more likely to be involved in an accident.
Not saying its fair but just how insurance companies work.

In 2023 we averaged 1 ship per month (12 for the year) each carrying an average of 376 cars.
We've already had two ships arrive in 2024 carrying 400 and 399 respectively, so based on that I would expect to see at least another shipment of between 300 and 400 arrive before the end of March.
Also, Tesla has been steadily increasing the numbers of cars arriving in Australia each year, so I would not be surprised to see more than 400 arrive before the end of the quarter.

the customer parking is fairly limited, plus it is nicer to have your plus one(s) sit in the new car on your way back.

Picked up today and drove it all afternoon - then an hour just sitting in it playing with everything this evening. What a dream car!
Delivery was as expected. I noticed an imperfection in the paintwork on the rear boot, nothing crazy but when the light catches it you see it.
The guy said since it's nothing they can do at the delivery centre to go ahead and accept delivery and open a service ticket with photos, which he walked me through and I have a booking to have it addressed. Not sure what they're going to do yet, but since I had the ceramic coat booked in already I've asked them if they can still do the rest of the car for now.
Other than that I had no issues, did the software upgrade and then took it for another drive at night with the adaptive headlights. They're amazing, I love seeing the individual parts of the light beam turning on and off in response to the surroundings!

Well yours could be sooner because mine had to have the shelf replaced before delivery so that added some time to it. That is assuming that future deliveries to Aus have the rear shelf fixed from factory.
