The "your order has not even been built yet" is a load of crap, the sales droid in Australia has no way of knowing that. All they knew was that a VIN hadn't been allocated yet.

I'm wondering exactly what a Tesla advisor, or "droid" as you amusingly put it, can see in their system?

When I placed my MY order last month, the first dude I spoke to seemed to have the inside scoop that my order would be much later than the March-April, but everyone else was far more "no no it'll be within your window". Is it just what they hear through the grapevine?

Well things are moving along, now have a VIN, final invoice and a new EDD for the 11th of may

Finally got the edd updated to May 11-june 1st. Had to accept some changes in the build for model y, no more sensors and will be managed through cameras.

You've given me hope that I'll have an EDD soon. I was told not to expect it until right at the end of June so if it ends up being on your timeframe then I'll be pleasantly surprised. I can't see why not.
Like you, I ordered a RWD Model Y, but I changed mine from pearl white to quicksilver.

I belive 2024 as they have changed the configuration by removing the sensors which was not part of 2023 build.

I chose the colour knowing there was a chance it could be later, but seeing someone in Melbourne get their silver MYP quite short dated has my hopes right up

Patience is key with Tesla. Nothing happens for long time and then one day suddenly all lines up.
