Quicksilver and Cherry Red require a significantly advanced multi-layer paint process. One that was pioneered in Giga Berlin and requires specialised equipment to apply. It was limited to Giga Berlin when first launched before being slowly rolled out to other markets. Presumably the production line for these colours is very limited and time consuming.

To an extent, but the East Coast are getting enough to have a few inventory models. To say if you ordered a Quicksilver LR or P today and it'll be possibly six months tells you something.
I've always said we get about half of the stock they do, but in reality I'd guesstimate its closer to a quarter, as we get much smaller ships.

Tracking update: Leo Spirit is in Singapore.
Fremantle Ports has it confirmed for Fremantle on 9/6.

However, the schedule for MolAce has it transferring in Thailand before coming to us.

Not sure how this will go.
The obvious question is why doesn't Leo Spirit just keep going with the allocation to Fremantle?
I did read somewhere that Tesla supposedly don't pay a lot for shipping, so they essentially are in budget class and get kicked off. Can't remember where I found it so therefore can't provide a source to verify it, The boot fits though. Leo Spirit and Beluga Ace are coming close together, so must be a busy time for vehicle shippage, being EOFY and all

The Mol Ace schedule continues to prove to be not a lot of help. T VESSEL L, our supposed transfer ship, isnt on the schedule. D VESSEL L is also still showing in Fremantle on the 1st. I dont think that data is getting much love.

Would I be surprised if the schedule moves up? No. Would not at all be surprised if we get a pleasant surprise and ours stay on Leo Spirit for an early delivery. I AM NOT GUARANTEEING THIS. PLEASE DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP.

Will know more in 24 hours or so hopefully.

Oh, and for the M3 waiters, Torrens is due 0615 on Wednesday Morning to unload.

Interesting, didn't know certain paints require specialised equipment.

Sorry for being off topic. What I don't understand is the pricing for colour choice, stealth grey is $2300 here but they're free in Canada (while they charge $1300 for the white color), and this seems to be varied for other countries too, so we are not paying extra because of the special coating or layer for such colour, we are just paying extra to have a rarer colour.

Good morning. A really interesting development.

I was chatting to a user in the model 3 thread. Their MYP is going to Adelaide via Leo Spirit.
I couldn’t work out why they had an early delivery date than us.

I asked the user.

Theirs is confirmed to go straight to Adelaide via Leo spirit. No Thailand two week holiday for them.

I can’t rationalise any reason why ours would change ship but not theirs.

I’m expecting our date to come in heavily, but I can’t promise it.

So, the inventory has updated this afternoon.
If you wanted Stealth Grey, it'll be on the Leo Spirit allocation. Ultra Red, Stealth Grey and Black with 20 inch wheels, White, Black, Stealth Grey with 19 inch wheels.

Surely you don't want to be waiting six months for Quicksilver.
I'm really not in any rush for the car. Happy to wait 6 months for my preferred colour. I hope it isnt 6 months, but if it is so be it.
