Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I had a good chat with Auckland Tesla delivery specialist - David. He said the cars are arriving in multiple batches. Orders will see movement this week with the contract drawn. He was quite relaxed about people going on holidays and picking the car post return - as long as full payment is done before leaving. He was also flexible for my custom plates being managed by them if I choose to leave the car with them. Felt reassured and excited at the same time. Now we just need the boats to arrive.

As I sit here, trying to work but actually waiting for Cap Capricorn to pass outside my window, it occurs to me that there are probably very few, if any, model 3s aboard. I would very much like to be wrong, mind you. But if there are cars on cap, Tesla on K rd will probably have the cars Tuesday or Wednesday. If so, they'll want to start deliveries at the end of the week. (They don't have space to store many cars, in addition to their rabid customers). If they want to do deliveries at the end of the week, they should already be making delivery appointments and arranging payment. And there's no indication that they have done so...
Yep, I made that same observation last week. Until delivery appointments are made the boat isnt close, and NZ will be first to know.

I would be more inclined to say they would unpack and check each vehicle before booking it to a person for delivery, dont want to find out that they were all damaged in the containers and then have to anger hundreds of customers. As said above next 48 hours should tell us.

A bit more on NZ insurance: still no response from vero (insure my tesla). According the FB group, they're very slow, and many other people seem to have issues with the real quote being much more than the indicative price (~$1100). I did get a detailed quote from youi, though, which is about the same as the vero indicative price.

Yeah, Vero have been very slow to reply to me, which doesn't give me much confidence in their service.
I rang up State insurance and got a quote for $1260 per year for full price of SR +. I might end up going with them as they seem a bit more reputable and I have my other insurance with them.
