On that note, any reservation holders that have received a car did you get the mythical die-cast model or any other merch?
Yes, but I had to go to Fremont to get it and even then only for day one reservers.
But I cannot work out how to fit the batteries - probably shorting one against the rear bumper will do the trick.

Remember to check a couple things guys.

- how many years warranty does the film come with
- is it truly all computer cut
- service associated with the install
- product support

Like a quality car, Tesla in this case, you do get what you pay for.

Thanks

Had Ando from Ando's auto detailing here all day working on my P3D+, correcting the paint and applying protection coating inside and out. The paint finish was pretty ordinary when the car was delivered last week, but now it looks amazing. Oh so shiny.
OK, I’m a dumb-o who sees cars as utilitarian things that get you reliably from point A to point B, and care very little about how they look. So I need someone to explain to me what “correcting the paint” means... painting the car again? Changing the colour??

Basically it's polishing and cleaning and buffing and restoring the "imperfections" on factory paint. Which I'm sure looks great and they take lots of care and time etc to do it.

Idk. I have owned many cars in my lifetime, many like my m5 comp which were on the higher end of price. I have never had PPF or any ceramic anything. Never had issues selling the vehicles, even with stone chips etc, although I tend to sell within a year or two and with about 10-15k km on the clock.
I don't think a 100k car (or any car) is worth the effort or extra cost which you will literally never get back.

everyone has their own preferences though. for some this will be their baby and I say more power to them. to me it's a car and a commodity which has a purpose.

Not at all - The team I used publish their full pricing online. Note that I have no affiliation with them other than being a happy customer:
Stoneguard Pricing | Protect My Car - The very best protection for your car. Paint Protection Film, GTechniq Quartz Coatings

For full front protection, plus ceramic coating it was about $2,000. I had the rear bumper done ($450) as well to protect against any car parking incidents.

Cheers mate, they look like a good outfit. I like it when stores give you upfront transparent pricing.

Btw, does anyone know whether the SR+ comes with factory tinted/darkened windows? Trying to line up some tinting quotes but not sure if I should be asking for 4 windows or 2.

Hey hey, so I also got the call for delivery today. Very exciting after being fairly deflated in a void of information over the past weeks/months about when I'd get my Model 3.

Model 3 is coming Sept 30th, Tesla reneges on unlimited Premium Connectivity - techAU

Good news: I'm getting HomeLink included.. Bad news: They say they won't provide unlimited premium connectivity.

VIN is 4440xx and delivery date is set for Sept 30th and 2PM. Ordered the white Model 3 Perf-

I asked my delivery specialist a few questions and he said he would get back to me, but hasn't. They are super busy so going to throw the questions here to see if anyone happens to have the answers.
When I pick up my car from Sydney (Alexandria) I also want to buy:

1) 2x extra key cards
2) Tyre repair kit
3) Touch up paint kit

Does anyone know if they will have these in stock?
