How are you guys speaking with Tesla? Sent an email in 5 days ago to change the colour of my car abs heard nothing back.

I'm not, but I guess if I have to I call the local dealer. Be careful on changing the colour, you know you'll go to the back of the queue.

I traded it in to cazoo, stuck about 6k miles on it and was offered more than what was showing on auto trader, feel like I got a good deal. Paid like 90p a mile to drive it for 3 months lol.

You need to ring them 01628 450660 and they will read the email while on the phone and make the necessary changes, if you haven't been allocated a VIN I doubt this will effect your place in the queue.

At this point I’m not expecting a VIN until the 10th at the earliest. Seems like there’s a lot of Teslas waiting to be shipped from the factory however.

Something like the 10th Sept. Most people who ordered around that time are talking about late nov to early dec deliveries.

fair enough, I'm thinking if Tesla sold record numbers of M3s in September, Octobers, Nov and Dec are going to be through the roof because of the petrol issues.

They must be planning to make alot more because they are running that £400/month deal for business contract hire that must be delivered before end of December? Do you think they will honour it if delivery's falls into Q1/2022

The VIN still requires "your" car to have been loaded on a RORO (vehicle roll on roll off) ship for the VIN to be allocated in the first place.
At some point after that your account page on Tesla.com may have the VIN added but not "advertised" - hence the search for the VIN on your account.
Some time after that you be informed by Tesla usually by SMS that your VIN is allocated.

Just a unique code for the car. Doesn’t mean much.

I asked did late December mean c. 20-24 December before Christmas but they said couldn't confirm yet.

They will be able to do VRT/SEAI/registration etc in advance anyway when they get the VINs for the Ireland bound cars loaded in Shanghai which would be early/mid November for a 30-40 day journey to Ireland to make delivery in December/Q4

I would think SEAI part would take a bit of time now too (bit more than the 15 days quoted) . There was a rush the last few months for home and car grants incase the grants would go end of this year. I got solar panels over a month ago and still waiting for the grant for that to be processed.
