Would love to see some straight line performance numbers just for reference.

They posted a video on YT yesterday of the run. I heard no tire squeal nor the car looked like it was overheating especially on the brakes

Yikes that's a shame. Doesn't look quickly recoverable. Hopefully the battery isn't damaged. I know UP put this car together in record time so doubtful they have the parts on hand needed. That back end looks pretty mangled.

My best guess as to what happened is tires and road conditions. This morning was a different part of the road course and is known for being very bumpy. Tires were probably too cold and dirt or gravel from a preceding vehicle caused it to spin out. They do have dashcam video which they will share soon. Happy to hear Randy is okay.

Oh, the pain! I crashed the Unplugged Performance Tesla Model 3. Too fast too soon, first run, first massive bump on top section. I know better. I know it’s rough up there. My apologies to Ben Schaffer and this terrific team. Yesterday was so fast and perfect it may have bred some overconfidence on my part. First run. Never do this! Repairs? Maybe, but not looking good, she’s pretty beat up. Racing. The highs are high (yesterday), and the lows are low (today). @unpluggedperformance #teslamodel3

You need suspension travel for Pike's Peak. Lowering a car too much for conditions can have consequences like this. The real world has bumps.

Here’s the “heave” that Randy was saying. You can see the striping of the road but there was another video of the last model 3 in the running talking the very inside way before the apex and made it. It looked like Randy pushed it too hard in a car with no suspension travel.

fast forward to 3.06. This is A closeup view on the opposite side. Not from this year. That heave looks way less in this video. I’m still disappointed regardless. They built a badass machine. If you’ve seen the videos on the acceleration outside the car you’d be giddy
