My replacement 85kWh D-rev pack was hitting 231 @ 90%. This morning it hit 232.

I wish there was some way to determine equivalent miles for this remanufactured pack. But given that it may now not have cells of the same age/mileage, that may be difficult to do.

My car just turned over 4yrs & 96K miles....

92000 km = 57000 miles on our 2013 Model S 85 with "A" battery pack (original pack, limited to 90kW supercharging).

414 km = 257 miles at 100% charge on the weekend
compares to 425 km new, so less than 3% degradation after 4 years

We've not lost any rated range since we purchased the car as CPO in 2015. Nice!

My latest stats (as we discussed yesterday):

2013 S85 (A-Pack) with 83,712 miles on the clock:

100% - 241 miles / 388 km
90% - 216 miles / 347 km

My 100% was 265 miles (exactly Tesla's "rated" range) when the car was new. So I've seen about 9% degradation over 4 1/2 years, and my 100% is almost exactly where my 90% used to be.

I can only speculate it was caused by a combination of range calibration and battery balancing issues. For the first few years I owned the car, I was mostly charging to 70%. Since I did not drive a lot of miles each day, I never went below 50% either. So over a period of time the car's range calculation may have gotten off. At the same time since I was not topping off the batteries were not balancing.

After discovering the low numbers in October of 2015, I decided to charge the car pretty regularly to 95%. I never let the car stand long at 95%. I was surprised to see 253 miles when I did this last range charge.

Thank you for the reply. I'll try something similar. I have been charging to 85% for a while, and I haven't charged above 90% for a long time. I've heard driving to below 10% then charging to 100% helps reset the BMS. We'll see. I have a 2012 P85 with a type A battery. Last summer my 90% was 226 miles; so far this summer and 20k miles later it's at 221. Seems a bit low perhaps, but not too far from the average based on what others report.

2016 P90DL (Pre-refresh)

VIN 128,xxx
Mileage - 24,000mi
90% - 237 (originally 241)
100% - 264 (originally 270)
Battery - 1071394-00-A

Additional Notes:

I'm still on firmware 7.1. I leave the car in Ludicrous mode but rarely push the car passed 300kW. I normally charge the car to 80% on weekdays with average daily commute of 75 miles. Charging finishes within a half hour of when I leave each morning. Weekend charge is 60%. Average SoC is somewhere in the low 60% range.
