Car in for annual service, and received AP loaner

I had my S85 in for its annual service at Tranmere. Also to get the winter tires put on. I really lucked out: the loaner I received was a P85+ with AP hardware. I was blown away by the AP performance and how accurately it stayed in the lane. Did some extra driving last night to test it out...

After driving a Tesla , everyone should drive an ICE

(now that I have your attention) It has been a year since I have driven an ICE. I had to take my tesla to the SC yesterday. It was making a very loud squeak (both control arms were replaced). The SC was out of loaner Tesla's..so I was given a car from Enterprise. WOW..after one day of driving...

    One Year Anniversary today

It's hard to believe, but my S85 classic is one year old today. In less than a year, it became a Classic. Still love driving it, and it is performing like new. Only problem it still has is the TPMS need to be fixed.

Too soon to think about taking off snowtires ?

With the nice weather we have had this week in Ontario, it got me thinking of when I should switch from snow tires back to all season tires. I was thinking of switching them in early April. I'ld be interested to know when do most tesla owners switch back to their summer/all season tires. I...

Nice charging signs when using public chargers

I found these charging signs on the internet. Seems like a great way to communicate to other EV's if it is okay to unplug you when you are using public chargers. http://www.takechargeandgo.com/2015/02/14/hangers/ I like that one side clearly says in red "Do not unplug" and the other side is...

How about a sticky for all the Model S error messages?

I figured it would be good to have an explanation of all the model S error messages. Also a mention if it is a critical error message, or one that can be put off for a while. I checked the wiki, and didn't see any listing. Having this would be handy...get an error message on your model S...

Invited to Tesla's All-Wheel Drive Insanity Tour

Did anyone else receive an email invitation from Tesla today ? Since I don't have a model D on order, I'm assuming this went to all model S owners who agreed to receive email notifications from Tesla. The eye catching part of the invite is that the test drive takes place on Tesla's private...

Model S getting a lot of hits in quora

A talk about the model S started on Quora - Your Best Source for Knowledge . It has now ballooned to over 100 000 views in less than a week and a lot of discussion is happening there about EV's in general and owner experiences. http://www.quora.com/Does-the-Tesla-Model-S-really-save-money I...

    Lexus commercial slams electric car

Has anyone seen the Lexus commercial that makes fun of electric cars? Apparently Lexus started to yank it within 24hrs because it was not received well at all. And the electric car is actually a hybrid (bmw i3 I think). I was able to find it here . Look at the comments after you watch it.

    First Big Roadtrip with Tesla

After having my S85 for 6 months, I finally took her on a road trip to Chicago. I was going to Soldier Field to see the New Zealand All Blacks play Saturday November 1. I left Georgetown, ON on Thursday. Stayed at the comfort Inn in Windsor overnight (met another Tesla owner from Rockwood)...

Has anyone Charged at Soldier Field in Chicago

I am wondering if anyone has used the chargers at Soldier Field. I read that there were 4 chargers located in the North parking lot. Has anyone had good or bad experience with them? I'm curious since I'll be going there the first week in November, and want to know how reliable the chargers are...

    Security breach at Home Depot

If you used a credit card at Home Depot after April 1 2014 (in the U.S. or Canada ), you can get fraud protection for free at https://homedepot.allclearid.com/ . Apparently you will get a year free of coverage (paid by Home Depot) for this inconvenience. I went there once during that time...

    Energy usage spike in traffic

I was caught in traffic Monday night when the 407 and QEW were closed. I was driving from Hamilton to Georgetown which is not that far. It took 3 hours to get home, 2.5 hours creeping along the QEW to Walkers Line. What is interesting is the energy spike that the car used to go 10 km in...

    choice to pick navigation route?

I saw a thread related to this that was a couple of years old. I am wondering if there is anyway to tell the navigation system to do any or all of the following : -avoid toll roads. -use the fewest turns possible -use mostly the highway. Currently I ignore the navigation until I'm passed the...

problem with thread constantly showing up as unread

Hello. I have gone through this thread : http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/showthread.php/4886-Ford-Focus-EV However, when I go to what's new, it still shows up as unread. I wouldn't mind so much except that it is blocking any threads after it from showing up. I did notice that when I clicked on...

Anyone getting preferential electricity rates for owning an EV?

I have heard that some people are getting lower electricity rates because they have an EV. I know Minnesota just lowered electricity rates at night for people with EV's. I am wondering if anyone in Canada has contacted their electrical company to see if they can get a cheaper rate for owning an...

    Can't start car

I drove to work today, and then my wife took the car and continued driving to her work (so when we started the car, both keyfobs were in the car. I grabbed mine when I was dropped off). Now, my wife can't get into the car using the keyfob. She was able to get in using the tesla app...

Does a USB in the Tesla continually draw power?

I have many songs on a usb stick, and they play fine in the tesla. The usb stick has a light at the end of it to show when it is getting power. I have noticed that the light stays on continuously, even when the car is off. I am wondering if this means the usb is drawing power off the 12v...

Made the car alarm go off

I didn't think I was doing anything wrong..but here is how I made the car alarm go off: I put the drivers window down all the way when I parked the car in the driveway. Went inside with the keyfob. Came back outside without the keyfob to look for something in the car...figured I could put my...

    new posts search feature question

Hi. I was wondering if it is possible to search for new posts in specific forums. I looked in the advanced search option, and didn't see an option to exclude specific forums. For example. I normally go to Forum->new posts. I get all the new posts that I have not read. However, I want to...

    would like an idling option

When I park the car, and leave, I think it is great that it turns off on its own and shuts down. However, when I am stopping to pick up my mail from the community mailbox, and get out of the car for 5 seconds, I find it annoying that the car has already shut off. Does anybody else feel the...

any way to remove minor dents?

I noticed on my passanger side that there was a dent on the rear door panel. :crying: The paint isn't chipped. Is there anyway to fix that easily? (use to be able to take a plunger to the old steel cars and get some dents out that way). Or should I take it to the SC? Not sure if it was a...

How do I remove the rear license plate?

Does anyone know how to remove the license plate on the model S (the rear one with the chrome Tesla holder)? I've tried turning the chrome covers, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Never thought I would ask how to remove a license plate! I'm going to put on personalized plates.

Passenger seat warmer doesn't auto turnoff

I've noticed that the front passenger seat warmer doesn't turn off automatically when the passenger leaves the car. The car can sense that the passenger is no longer there since it deactivates the passenger airbag...so why wouldn't it turn off the seat warmer as well ? It is my first time with...

Multiple future uses for Tesla's battery

Tesla's battery is a great innovation. The other day when I was passing by a farmer's field and saw the pollutants coming out of his tractor, I said that the Tesla battery could power that tractor/combine easily. Would save the farmer a heck of a lot of money. Once the gigafactory is built...

Getting my car a week early!

I was scheduled to get my car April 22, but am now picking it up on Tuesday the 15th... in 5 days !! I guess either Tesla is getting better at their manufacturing process, or they allow extra time just so they don't over-promise. I liked the docu-sign process. Wish more companies would use...

Car doesn't stay in production status long

I have an April 22 delivery date for my Tesla 85. At the beginning of the week, it changed from Sourcing parts to "in production". Today, it said preparing for delivery. I wonder if preparing for delivery will take 3 weeks, or if I will get an early pick-up date. The last few weeks have been...

Could this happen in Canada ?

I'm sure most of you are aware that NJ blocked Tesla from selling its cars in that state. The funny/sad thing about this is that they are blocking an American made car from being sold...not an import. I don't know how the Canadian automotive industry is setup (even though I've lived here all...

Anyone recently take delivery of their car in Toronto?

Hello. I will be picking up my Tesla in April in Toronto. I'm just wondering if anyone can give me any feedback on their experience with the Toronto delivery process. Reading through the forum, it seems some people's delivery process is awesome, and for others it has been a nightmare. What's...
