My understanding is the exterior won’t change until at least next year. We are heading towards some sort of update I’m Q3 or Q4 though. Likely Plaid powertrain.

Sorry but $8k for FSD in its current form is too much. I get that it will improve over time. But I know a ton of people who were choosing not to pay even $7k. At some point it just becomes too cost prohibitive and people just want to drive their car.

I refuse to give electrek any clicks but not sure why it’s summer now. Elon said about a year from now in like October 2019.

Interesting timing regarding the 402 mile Model S. Doesn’t seem like an actual “upgrade”, simply a re-rating by the EPA of all S cars since late January. In my mind, the next significant upgrade will be Plaid Model S - which will likely be end of year or early 2021 based on Elon’s comments...

The FSD price increase is such nonsense. FSD is not compelling enough to discuss any price increases whatsoever. Completely boneheaded move by Elon. $7k for FSD in its current form is insane.

This isn’t a fix by any means. It’s a temporary demand lever, that will surely go away next quarter.

In my mind, free unlimited supercharging is a demand lever for this quarter and hopefully the battery change +/- some upgrades are coming next quarter.

I don’t think any updates have been pushed to January. I still think we see something in Q4.

While that’s true, the Taycan will always be compared to a Model S, not the 3. And because Porsche/VW pay for ads, you can expect a ton of incorrect info out there and several large publications that will say the Taycan is better. Those ads don’t work on people like you and me, but they do work...

The S HAS to get upgrades, plain and simple. Raven wasn’t enough. They have to keep selling their premium flagship product, especially with cars like the Taycan on the horizon. They’re not going to abandon the S/X in favor of the 3/Y.

I think it’s obvious Elon’s twitter posts are related specifically to the word “refresh”. He has said on numerous times Tesla does not do refreshes. Also no interior “redesign” but maybe a dashboard change. New battery. Upgrades are definitely coming, it’s just not a “refresh”.

This post resonated with me as I am in a similar position. Unfortunately we all believed Elon. I love the guy, he’s incredible, but he just oversaw nearly a 50% drop in market cap.
