congrats to whoever snagged that - red with white seats yet price for new car cheaper than you could order! This JUST showed up in the last 30 minutes. I was looking at the inventory just a little bit ago.
It’s how the system works. When a car is rejected it goes back into the system and there is a time it is available to anyone before the system matches it to an existing order. Some times they make it online. Also, people who jump out of line are more likely to accept a car with issues (these are rejected cars after all most likely). Would you have been happy if you drove all over the Bay Area on NYE for a car with bad panel gaps, scuffed wheels or paint problems?
Thank you for posting I was able to snag one for LA delivery.![]()

3 More showing up in LA/OC area just now. 1 black, 2 red MYPLooks like they put out more Model Ys for the SF Bay Area as well.
There was like a bunch of MYLR and MYP on the inventory in LA/OC like a couple of hours ago. Saw like 3 MYLRs in LA with the same exact config as with my order. I was tempted to pull the trigger and get those instead but realized I'm not going to pay at least $4000 more to get my car sooner. I'd rather wait it out.3 More showing up in LA/OC area just now. 1 black, 2 red MYP
That's been my rationale as well. Especially when my EDD is so close-ish...There was like a bunch of MYLR and MYP on the inventory in LA/OC like a couple of hours ago. Lol same here. I don't see the logic.Lmao and there was a match for my exact spec in the LA area just now for maybe a minute. Now it’s gone. Chat agent said it was not flagged as being damaged. Why would these be made available as existing inventory when there are many others already in line??!
I just did that. By the time he replied, it is already gone. He also mentioned that it is not possible to get one from inventory with the price you originally ordered. If it's from inventory, you pay current price. If you really want the ones in inventory, can't you contact your SA and have them match it? or is that not possible?
Thanks for that info... I thought in the past it was possible to get the price you agreed as long as it was the same build but I guess not.I just did that. By the time he replied, it is already gone. I was thinking the same. Turns out they have to "match" the VIN to be able to get it at the price when you ordered. Thanks for that info... I thought in the past it was possible to get the price you agreed as long as it was the same build but I guess not.
I was one of the people who just pulled the trigger on one of those. Had an order for a MYP because I didn't want to wait for the LRs, this was great for me. They assigned the vin to my MYP order, replaced certain details, and are crediting me back the $250. Glad I happened to check! There was like a bunch of MYLR and MYP on the inventory in LA/OC like a couple of hours ago. Saw like 3 MYLRs in LA with the same exact config as with my order. Did you end up paying for current pricing?I was one of the people who just pulled the trigger on one of those. Had an order for a MYP because I didn't want to wait for the LRs, this was great for me. Yeah, but frankly, my OD was back on 11/15 which was already post markup, hence why for me it was worth the "downgrade" from MYP back to MYLR. Saved money for me in the end since I didn't care for matrix headlights, 3.5 second 0-60, CF spoiler, or big wheels.Did you end up paying for current pricing?
