The next big milestone for FSD is 11. It is a significant upgrade and fundamental changes to several parts of the FSD stack including totally new way to train the perception NN.

From AI day and Lex Fridman interview we have a good sense of what might be included.

- Object permanence both temporal and spatial
- Moving from “bag of points” to objects in NN
- Creating a 3D vector representation of the environment all in NN
- Planner optimization using NN / Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS)
- Change from processed images to “photon count” / raw image
- Change from single image perception to surround video
- Merging of city, highway and parking lot stacks a.k.a. Single Stack

Lex Fridman Interview of Elon. Starting with FSD related topics.

Here is a detailed explanation of Beta 11 in "layman's language" by James Douma, interview done after Lex Podcast.

Here is the AI Day explanation by in 4 parts.

Here is a useful blog post asking a few questions to Tesla about AI day. The useful part comes in comparison of Tesla's methods with Waymo and others (detailed papers linked).

The rollout of 2023.12.10 / FSD Beta 11.3.6 has just jumped up on Teslascope from about 100 yesterday noon Pacific to 150 now and TeslaFi from 200 to 300. Still only going to new additions including some more previous versions with this 50% rollout increase: 2022.40.100, 2023.2.10, 2023.2.12, 2023.2.201, 2023.6.8, 2023.6.9, 2023.6.11, 2023.6.100, 2023.12.1, 2023.12.1.1, 2023.12.5, 2023.12.8, 2023.12.9.

Curious that 2023.12.10 seems to be going to more countries with today's rollout. Clearly the code includes FSD Beta 11.3.6 from people using it yesterday, but I wonder what people outside of North America see? Maybe shadow mode using the FSD Beta neural networks? 2023.12.10 Official Tesla Software Update | Teslascope

TeslaFi so far is also showing these countries: Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland.

You'll certainly hear more from others...but...it's FSD (junk). You may also see FSDp which is FSD (perfect).

I’m firmly in the FSD beta camp. It’s beta. Plenty of bugs but slowly getting better. If you can’t handle that you can opt out and go back to using plain AP. Either way the constant bitching that it’s ‘junk’ because it’s not perfect is tiring.

It will always be beta, for years/decades - like many of the other features a decade old and still tagged “beta” in the UI. Tesla is abusing the term, “beta,” so normal “beta” rules do not apply. Perpetually “beta”…. Now “that” is getting old!

I just think of FSD as the L&H software since you can both love it and hate it on the same drive.

What do you call life long beta? Junk.

My Feb 2022 MSLR just got 2023.12.10. It's good to see FSDb on this software branch. NotATeslaApp:View attachment 940782
Every now and then you have to polish the turd.

11.4 was so 🔥 🔥 that Elon figured the general public cannot handle it and should remain on 11.3 for just two more weeks.

EDIT: Even more ironic that they did not slide all of the current 11.3.6 people onto the new 11.3.6, but are instead pushing it out to vehicles that haven't had beta. So the newcomers get the beta and new regular branch features. Ahhhhh, good ol Tesla ways.

I saw that some people were getting FSD beta, so I decided to take the $199 risk yesterday. My wife took the car today and I am getting the 2023.12.10 update!!!
That's cool, no worries, us who have been testing the junk for over a year don't really want the new main branch features.

That's great. Just approach it very cautiously at first. Many of the people getting it now are newer owners who haven't been following the months and years of reports about successes versus problems. There are already posts here from people who threw it right into rush hour traffic, residential speed bumps and so on and had bad first-day experiences. Start cautious and you will be rewarded with what it can actually do.

Yea, also if you have a cabin camera - forget about looking at your watch, or your phone, or the center screen for too long. It'll strike you like a drunk, angry, abusive dad would.

I will be the one getting screwed by Tesla soon. I am number 7500ish reservation for the Cyber Truck for dual motor. I am sure that I won't get the opportunity to get first crack at the truck and people that have new reservations without a configuration will jump me.

My MYP ended up being $9000 cheaper than my wife's M3S with rebates. I tell her she has the more expensive car and to be happy with it.

It's all good, I was promised a "one month" delivery for my Plaid order and it didn't show up until after my MSLR order that was 6 months late. Ended up declining it. I also didn't get a fully functional computer on the flagship refresh so I'll never be able to play the promised "console quality games" as Steam cannot run on the current computer that's in it. Those are just couple FSDj unrelated fun facts about my experience with Tesla.
