Actually. I'd do that in a heartbeat as a business order. It's called capitalism.
Not really. That type of behavior isn’t capitalism, socialism, anythingism. It’s just a very shortsighted business model that would be out of business in weeks. The only reason Tesla can get away with it is no competition. What they are doing is conditioning their customers to seek alternatives as soon as they are available. It’s a horrible strategy.

My order agreement shows

My agreement shows

Order placed with electronically accepted terms
RN1142xxxxxx 01/31/2021
Wonder where they are getting these dates for the "accepted" terms. I couldn't even do anything to my account because they had to "migrate" it over from pre-refresh. Now I'm wondering if my place in line is now 3/1/21 (and yours 1/31) because of that.

Well they did not make the refresh and new pricing official until the end of January. I called
My sa and told Him to update paperwork. He did.

But I don’t understand why you would show 3/1/21 unless your order was not confirmed and accepted until that date

For those that put cash and plan on leasing when delivery becomes real, how do you go about initiating financing? There is no option on the site to change payment method to finance/lease once you put cash.
When they assign your VIN they ask you to finalize financing. You have the days of production and travel to get it finalized

I got a phone call from an unfamiliar number that my phone listed as "Maybe: Tesla". Obviously I answered it with my eagerness going through the roof. The guy starts off with "Hey rpan25, I am xxxx and I wanted to welcome you to the Tesla family...." with a bunch of generic spiel. I'm waiting on pins and needles for him to say the words "Model S", "delivery", "Plaid", "your", etc. Finally, after all that he says "The reason I am calling you is because you have expressed interest in Tesla Solar Panels....". 😒😖

Talk about a total buzzkill. Haha.
I hope you didn’t let him off easy.

Not really. In fact automakers typically do something like this. Business with high end product with high demand if a contract isn't set for a specific date and time, will absolutely rearrange things for a higher paying customer than that lesser paying customer until a contract with an agreed to time and date has been placed. You have a reservation. Even those with tickets with a date and time can be oversold and other VIP guests or passengers or whatever can push lower cost ticket holders out of line.

When I made my original order in Feb I had a lease secured but it has obviously expired. I was told to just put cash as payment method so they would not run my credit again. Now I have cash on a pending delivery, and don't know how to apply for a lease. No option to switch on website
You'll have to get in touch w Tesla to change. Call their support or chat with them and they'll fix yah once you have a VIN assigned. They'll also reach out when you have a VIN and you can change then too.

We just talked about Solar and Powerwalls for 20 mins. I didn’t talk to him about the cars at all. Solar is a different part of the company and I give enough grief to my SA as it is - who often knows less than folks on this forum. 😁

I didn’t expect the Solar SA to know or be expected to have any info on the cars much less that I have one or two in order. He was just doing his job so I didn’t want to make it a whole thing haha. ☺️

Sometimes I say, screw it, it will come when it comes. Other times I get really aggravated. Probably aggravated now because I am seeing people with LR’s getting text messages and vins that ordered way after me. I really hope they ramp up production in July but don’t have expectations. They have let me down too many tes now.

I'm with you. I also was pre-refresh and updated almost immediately. I feel like I ShOULD be close to the front of the LR line...Looking at that truck, I feel like one of those MSM models HAS to be mine. I certainly understand the flipping back and forth between anger and shoulder shrugging. LR VINS going out have me on the edge of my seat and I'm looking at my phone EVERY SINGLE EMAIL to see ..IS THIS IT!?

That’s still open for debate. If you compare the new arachnids to the old ones, it seems like Tesla tried to modify the wheels for aerodynamic benefits. The lug nuts are now covered and the lip is much wider and flatter. These changes did not improve the appearance, so it seems likely that the changes were made for efficiency reasons. It seems unlikely that any aftermarket wheels would take efficiency into consideration. This is just my interpretation, and I could be way off on this. I need to somehow rationalize why I spent $4,500 on these things.
Curious if it really makes that big of a difference in range, coming from ICE, I never cared about aerodynamics of my rims and shopped purely on reliability and looks

It makes a dramatic difference on an EV. The Plaid is rated at 390 miles of range with the 19” wheels and 348 miles of range with the 21” wheels. Aftermarket wheels not optimized for aerodynamics might be even worse.

If I didn't sell my P100D in early March, I'd be way more relaxed. The past several months would have been a lot easier for sure.
Edit: My first order was Sept 2020, 2nd was March 2021, and finally May 2021.

Not going to start a new topic on politics and economics, so I guess agree to disagree.

Hugo Veronica is very helpful and he'll return your call if you leave a VM.
He's a Tesla Advisor in Freemont and he should be able to help you.

I spoke to him earlier, and he gave me confidence that June could still easily happen (even with no delivery date lol.)
