I'm from Aus so all this talk of taking off the front license plate is foreign to me (no pun intended) as it's just law here, but are you guys also allowed to install radar detectors and jammers legally? That sounds like something that probably shouldn't be allowed haha (I assumed it's to block speed cameras)?

Well, based on what we've seen so far from the spy shots at Laguna Seca, it looks as if this Track Pack would be much more extensive than the one found on the Model 3. It's likely that this package will include carbon-ceramic brakes, the ZeroG wheels and tires, a track mode, and an active spoiler that would require a completely modified rear tailgate and rear glass to fit said spoiler. Just the active wing alone is probably 7-10k.
idk if that spoiler going to make It since its going to require a whole new rear glass and trunk but if it does i wouldn't mind. I pay someone for the wheels alone if I have too.

Being that the EMC is stating the current tailgate and back glass is 'without active aero,' it's very likely that there will be one with active aero. Definitely would be awesome if you could get those wheels individually. :)

Oh wow. Those do look great! What is the approx cost to powder coat and does it reduce range?
I was taking two trips from Portland OR to Medford OR (285 miles) on back to back weekends early in June. For fun I made one trip with the covers and the next one with out. Temperature and weather was about the same, travel time was only 3 minutes different (cruise control manages the speed well). Without the covers I got to Medford with 12 miles less range. I heard they said the covers add 2-3%, this was above that but I was going fairly quickly, faster you go the more aero helps. I had a few hours and some spare carbon wrap, now the Tempest covers add 20mph to the top end, carbon fixes everything 😉

I was able to push the car much harder than I expected. It explodes out of corners and is a total thrill. Naturally I had the suspension dialed up to max stiffness. This car is not just a straight line speedster that’s for sure. Windows were tinted today. I will be getting the car wrapped next week the a radar detector and laser jammer mounted in the front bumper which consider essential given how deceptive the speed is on thiscar.
The window tint is the first thing I’m going to do when I get my car.
Were you able to use ceramic window tint all around? I’ve read somewhere that it’s not a good idea to use ceramic tint on the rear window but I’m not sure if that accurate.

I can understand wanting to remove the front license plate. I personally think it is ugly. But, California requires it, I’ve gotten tickets for it before, and I don’t want to give anyone an excuse to pull me over. Mine will stay.
There is not primary enforcement on front plates. If you get a ticketed by the cops because of the the plate, they've already pulled you over for something else. The folks who will nail you are parking enforcement when you street park. I have my front plate mounted on a frame with suction cups that I use then I street park in SF.

SteveinATX. I love your Ferrari. I had 5 discs fused 3 years ago and it has kept Me from buying another sports car. Something about that dancin horse does it for me. At my country club, it seems almost every round member has one. It is off limits to me. I guess it also saves me money. Lol.
Great looking car and color.

Oh. Btw. Do you know when my LR is arriving? Needed to stay on topic before the thread police start dissing me again
It’s a great car to drive but, aside from the speed of the Plaid, it’ll be nice to not have to worry about the annual maintenance!

The escort ci (2009????) cost
Me over 2 grand to get installed into front and rear bumpers on my AMG-GTS. There was
A company called Mid City Engineering in Chicago that created a stealth interface that showed through the speedometer and sounded through car speakers. Worked great for radar and laser.
I will check out AL Priority. Who installed it. I think you are about 100 miles from me. But for a trusted shop, I would travel. I moved to LA 2 years ago.
I work with LaJolla Audio. They do the best quality work in San Diego but are a bit more expensive than some I would not anyone else touch my cars. Talk to Donald if you call them. Tell him Dave with the Plaid sent you.

All ceramic tint. Was there a specific concern regarding ceramic tint. I haven’t heard anything. My other cars have it.

Other observations??
Fit and finish?
Interior noise?
Audio system?
you know, the usual please.

If you need a driver let me know will fly down there 👀🤣👌
Not sure which car I want to drive. They are both incredible in their own way. But it would be interesting. The Lambo has been clocked at 2.2 seconds to 60 and 10.2 in the quarter mile. At Nurburgring it clocked a 6:52 which is one of just a few production cars to break the 7 minute mark. I think the Lamborghini would lose in straight line but win at Nurburgring.
