Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I think they are really trying to push these out the door before the end of the quarter. I guess I am one of the beneficiaries of that push. My custom order only took 2 weeks and a few days from order to delivery. This is very promising for the Model 3 rollout. I hope they can keep up this pace for future orders as well.

MS 75D, Deep Blue Metalic, Pano roof, Black Next-Gen Seats, Premium Package and Autopilot (oh yeah and rear cup holders)

Order Date: 9/8/16
Confirmation Date: 9/8/16
Vin Date: 9/8/16
Prod Start: 9/14/16

Since switching my order to an inventory showroom car nine days ago I haven't been contacted by Tesla once, and two emails to my new delivery specialist have gone unanswered. I assume I'm being ignored because there's no way to get me the car before the end of the month so other people are being prioritized but it's extremely annoying. Even the "View Design Spec" link for my car is broken, so the only information I have about my car is the screenshot Tesla sent me when I was deciding whether to switch my order. Even a "we'll get back to you later" would be better then nothing.

I just took the plunge, but am being told delivery is now going to be late December / Early January! Not quite the 2 weeks from the poster above :(. My only difference is the 60D vs the 75D, although being end of the month I guess they're now rammed with orders.

MS 60D, Deep Blue Metalic, Pano roof, Black Next-Gen Seats, Premium Package and Autopilot.
I was going to go for the 21s with air suspension but read a few bad things about them so have avoided them this time around.
Model 3 Pre-Order is also in, hoping to aim for a 90DL or 100DL when that's out!

....and just like that I have a design spec, price is exactly as promised. Alliant gave initial approval for the loan too, 1.74% for 72 months. Now I just need the car. :D

Yep,
Just got my P100D yesterday.
Compared to my previous p85dl the top end is greatly improved.
I can truly say that I will never yearn for any more acceleration.
Suspension is softer but still pretty good.

And the premium seats are a nice place to be :) They really kick up the interior a few notches. The car feels very luxurious, but at any moment you can turn it into a fire breathing monster (that doesn't breathe fire).

Wow! Early January?????? I have not pulled the trigger yet but my advisor is quoting me late October for a 60 RWD. I will be mad if I cannot claim the tax credit for this year.

LOL! Sorry, but the irony of someone with one of the quickest cars ever made (P85D) who upgrades to ludicrous (P85DL) and then upgrades to P100DL and says "now it's enough" is priceless. Enjoy that car, you might be driving it for at least 10 months before your next upgrade at this point. :D

Yep, it's telling me on Tesla's system. It was saying November, with my advisor saying December - and yet Tesla's system is saying end of December / early January. I guess they've been so busy pushing for the later quarter!

So I filled out my Delivery Experience Feedback yesterday from an email sent to me by Tesla. My feedback was:
  1. Fix your delivery center procedures. Visitors are parking where cars are delivered. I watched in horror when a visitor backed into a brand new Model X that was JUST delivered to a customer.
  2. Fix your notification system. I never got the VIN email that others did and I got the "Order was changed" email just now (1.5 weeks later after delivery)
  3. Better training for the associates. They had to send someone to my work to get me to sign something on the trade-in that they should've known when we were doing that.
I dislike car dealerships and that entire process as much or more than anyone, but Tesla still has some things to learn how to do. Years and years and years of experience to learn from. Go hire the nearly retired GM of big car chain and listen to him a bit.

I technically never signed or agreed to the 100 upgrade at any point. The entire process was me emailing them saying I was intrested in the upgrade. I'm thankful my P90 order was able to be upgraded, but it's still sloppy.

I'm not unhappy. I gave them 7-10 ratings, but they can be better with better procedure put in place.

I've also had no automated emails about the process after the order was confirmed. The website shows that it went into production and is now in transit (to Australia). No delivery estimate yet - I assume something will show up eventually in My Tesla.
