Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Not FIFO, but SIRO (Serial In Random Out)

Spreadsheet shows someone in North Carolina ordering a 60D - confirmed 6/26, Vin #1497xx 6/27, Enter Production 6/30. This is self-reporting and he may have thought "Entered Production Queue" meant "really production" and mis-reported. Another #1493xx also entered production 6/30 (after 6/24 confirm/vin#) - however again, could be mis-reading the status.
That's me. My vehicle did enter production on 6/30 and has remained there. I still have a August-September delivery date.

Another one just added today: confirm 6/21, vin 148xxx on 6/22 and 6/30 production date.

That's probably me. Can confirm 6/30 was my factory production notice, and not factory queue. Still, not sure what to expect. My delivery specialist told me prior to June 30 that I could expect to enter production sometime in mid-July. If the email notification and website status is accurate, they managed to get me in significantly earlier than delivery specialist thought.

I put that my car entered production on July 4 just because that is when I first noticed the update on the My Tesla page. I'm assuming that it actually entered production just before they shut down for the holiday weekend. Or perhaps the system was automatically updating to fill the production queue in anticipation of the line starting back up today. Dunno.

Regardless, my delivery window is still July-Early August, and my DS is still saying it will be last week in July at the earliest. I don't like his pessimism ;). I'm going to apply for financing (Alliant) today, and my DS said they would do my trade-in appraisal next week or the week after.

Confirmed order on 26 June. My Tesla says delivery estimated for late July-August. As of today, DS is hazy on production and delivery dates. She suggested production could start in mid-July and delivery in August. What part of August I have no idea, albeit I did ask. I do miss the certainly of Porsche's system. Porsche could even identify the ship so I could track it online. Eh, First World problems. :)

I was unaware of that crash

I'm sorry I didn't at all mean to imply any insensitivity on anyone's part.

That was me speaking to myself to make sure I keep things in perspective as I wait this out.

But I do have to wonder if that has caused any issues. I don't know that they use that route, but I have read that Tesla has used BNSF in the past. Don't ask me how I know this (or my wife, who has rightfully accused me of going way past obsessive with this whole thing. Guilty as charged.)

As painful as it is to wait for my late Aug - September delivery, when I read headlines like this:

Tesla is struggling to get its cars to customers

"...Tesla blamed the jump in undelivered cars on its "extreme" manufacturing ramp-up at the end of the second quarter. The company forecast that it would deliver about 50,000 cars in the second half of the year, up from 30,000 in the first six months of 2016.
The 50,000 Teslas to be delivered in the next six months would nearly match the automaker's full-year 2015 deliveries..."

I hope the "ramp up" does not happen at the sake of build quality!

5/13/16 - Confirmed (S70D)
7/6/16 - Voicemail from SC to schedule a pickup that week. So under 2 months to get me the car, which is not bad.
7/7/16 - Leaving for vacation so have to call the SC and ask that they hold the car until 7/18/16... hopefully not an issue.

SC location is Dedham, Massachusetts.

Anyone concerned with the continued rumors of AP2 coming out by the end of this year? I was all gung ho to order this week before the referral program ended but now I am concerned and may wait.

I know that "if you always wait for the next thing to order a Tesla you will never order a Tesla" but this is a pretty significant update that I would kick myself forever in missing.

Last time the referral program ended they introduced the redesign. They are opening the gigafactory at the end of the month and would be prime introduction time soon.

Decisions,decisions!!!

I think the model x rework situation has likely been a. Painful enough lesson in building it right the first time
