Wiki Model S Delivery Update

P2840/VIN2310 delivered today (Portland, OR) along with several others in the area this weekend.

I was there to see Chris's S being delivered, felt rather jealous, as mine's not due for several months.

But wait, checking the Tesla site - the Big Red Delivery Button is alive! Aaaaand, the delivery date is scheduled for Jan. 26th - Feb. 9th.

Sweet!

P2009/VIN1929 is home in the Hamptons! It arrived at the NY Service Center on Christmas day, and because of holiday traveling, we took delivery on Sunday, December 30th (Hello, federal tax credit!). I could have scheduled in for a day earlier, but didn't due to the rain and snow we had. As it was, it arrived with a fair amount of road grit/salt spray on it, and my delivery specialist confirmed that they owe me a full detail. I was all set to take lots of photos, but the grime on the car made me decide to wait until after it's been detailed to set up a proper shoot.

Anyway, what can I say? The car is awesome, even more so in person. In all of the photos I've seen, it looks like a really nice sedan. In person, it looks and feels (and drives) like a supercar. My boys (6 & 9) have been going nuts, begging me to take them out for "test drives" all day long. I obliged and, to be totally honest, between the take-offs and regen braking, I made myself a little car sick...That's how powerful it is. Not complaining, just observing. The ride is so smooth, and the car handles phenomenally. I've not had the opportunity to really test out the speed and maneuverability head to head, I'm waiting to get a little more comfortable behind the wheel first. I did wave a Ferrari FF through a 4-way intersection ahead of me, and he certainly checked me out, with his head of a swivel as he drove past me. All I could think was "Catch you later..." ;)

I'm very happy with my blue car, even though it is a little darker than I was expecting...The photos of the blue Model S in the Tesla gallery are a total farce...In person, it reads very similar to the photos a lot of people have been posting, as in very near black. As for the interior, the grey looks AMAZING, way better than the tan in my opinion, as it blends with the other interior colors of the car really well. I am also very happy with the matte Obeche...Color-wise, it works perfectly with the grey, and it's beautiful and natural and very understated. To some, it might be too understated, but I really like it. The gloss Obeche pops off the dash and, to me, feels more like an old-school Jaguar kind of look. If you have a green or brown Model S with tan leather, I bet the gloss Obeche would look pretty good with that combination. But for me, the grey leather and matte Obeche is just the aesthetic that I was hoping for.

What else can I say? I'm driving the future!

Congratulations Mark and thank you for showing it off this morning at our local caffeine establishment...

This photo reminded me of an advertisement for Van Huesen dress shirts that ran in the 1960s in a certain men's magazine. It was a photo of a guy in a Van Huesen shirt with a bunch of paper mache models in other shirts in the background of the picture, and the caption read "When you come on in a Van Huesen, the rest come off like stiffs." When I see a photo of a Model S in a parking lot with various ICE vehicles, somehow that ad comes to mind.

Thanks Austin - You helped me make a decision on the Obeche Gloss vs Matte. I have the exact same specs and couldn't decide along with the 21". I'll spend a little extra money and get the 19" for winter driving. ENJOY!

Car came at 3:30 today. Loving it so far! Full update soon...but curious if I was the last delivery of 2012...or perhaps at least on TMC?

P4909 got a surprise New Years' delivery of VIN 2570 at 6pm today in LA. Not the last delivery of 2012, since two more Teslas were on the truck for delivery tonight in LA and Diamond Bar. I look forward to testing out my car on New Year's Day!

UMD86 - No worries, happy to help :) I'll take some photos of the interior and post them too, I've seen very few photos of the grey interior OR the matte Obeche, let alone together. And yes, I'm getting the 19" wheels too for these lovely East Coast winters, but they're currently back-ordered...My DS is checking on availability for me.

Timdorr, could you pls consider separating the city and state in the spreadsheet? It would be nice to see not only who is in your city, but also state.
thx!

Because it's a Google Docs form, I can't alter existing columns. It's basically something you set up once and that's it. You can add/delete fields from the form, but they will not go away from the spreadsheet. So, we're stuck with what I've got.

I'd love to see more pictures of the grey interior as well. Congratulations!
