I think it is a glitch because it's far too massive and prevalent around the world to be true. I'd love it if it were, but it's starting to look unlikely. We really need someone to confirm they still have sourcing parts or otherwise it's pretty much confirmed to be a glitch.

This would be massive news and good for the investors. And there's a saying that hope leaves last so let's keep hoping that this is reality and not a computer glitch. If it is a glitch they'll have thousands of unhappy campers around the world and better send an apology letter or smth

Same here, will have to wait until Monday I think. I'm guessing I'll have better luck with EU headquarters on Monday morning (because it's ca 10h before the US one gets to the office in the morning). I'll post what I hear.

I get the feeling that there are going to be a few voice mails waiting for DSs on Monday from all of us that went into production trying to find out what's actually happening.
Is there anyone who is still in Sourcing Parts status? That's one indication that those In Production changes are real and not a glitch
my dashboard still says sourcing parts. I confirmed my order just this past Monday 10/28 though.
BTW does reservation number give out any useful info? mine is RN659999.

I just asked the question. My DS just called and told me that my s85 would go into production on December 16th and scheduled my pick up for December 20th. He said that they have ramped up production and there is a good chance my car will even go into production before that. I just checked my dashboard and it has not changed since the day i placed my order. When do you recieve your vin numbers?

I ordered an 85 on Sep. 29th and my dashboard still shows "sourcing parts" and delivery as being in December (no date given).
This is my first post since registering last week, although I've been an avid reader for more than 10 months.
I ordered on Oct. 14, confirmed on Oct. 28th and my dashboard (obviously) is also in sourcing parts state.
BTW, it looks like the convention here is to list all the non-default options for an order. Here's mine:
Grey Metallic/Pano/Grey Leather/Tech/Fog/Sound

Your VIN number will be reflected on the dashboard. Its where those other numbers were below Model S on the left side of the dashboard. It goes from a 6 - 7 digit alpha numeric number to an actual looking VIN number.

I chose the standard piano black interior. I know it requires some maintenance (keeping it clean of fingerprints) but grey and monochrome black
sticks to the minimalist idea.

I was iffy about the piano black but when I went for my test drive they had an 85 waiting on delivery that was Red with the Perf Black interior and Piano black decor. That convinced me that the Piano black was a viable solution.
Have you tried to take them out ? Hope it's not too difficult, I took obeche matte but will probably try to wrap them with carbon film.
