First of all, I never said anything about it affecting me in any way, let alone having it consume me. Actually I never offered any emotions or feelings about it at all. And of course I have bought cars off the lot and they'd been sitting for weeks or months and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, some people who aren't you, like to order factory new cars, get them from port (or wherever) in the factory wrap and take them to a detailer for polish and ceramic or PPF. And this process is not remotely isolated to Tesla. You had a C450...you're telling me you've never seen anyone on MBWorld talking about this? Ever check out Bimmerpost.com? Or any other brand enthusiast forum?

It's peoples preference and doesn't affect you. We all pass by posts or comments all day long in here that we disagree with or think are silly (including a s**t ton of mine), but we don't all dismiss something that matters to someone else.
Considering this is the very first time I have ever ordered a new car, I am severely disappointed in the process. I expected my car to be produced with my build in mind, and delivered according to the date with which it was ordered. To say I am a little angry, over now knowing I will only get my custom ordered luxury car when one with my configuration happens to show up in my area, is a huge understatement.

If I am able to know that the car they present me has been sitting on their lot for several months, I will decline. That is a fact. I could have just waited till one showed up in stock if I wanted that kind of experience.

And I do not blame you one bit!

Delivered to the door today - they wanted to hold up delivery till this “major” scuff was repaired. I told Tesla that I gave them my cash, sent my title, and swapped insurance and that I could not wait two weeks for a piece of trim when I felt kind of exposed having gone through all the Texas paperwork. They finally agreed and here she is.
One word.............sick!

Does everyone keep ignoring the fact that other car makers are having similar issues? Communication from Tesla is not great. But beyond that, no one should be surprised about these production issues.

I will not speak for @AnselmDante here, but that seems like an answer to a different concern/question.

Uh, they don't show up in stock. You aren't matched to a car that shows up in your area. You are matched at the factory.

I did some analysis on Michelin PS4 AS tires... I'm quite certain the 19s are coming with these... The load ratings on the PS4 AS 19" is significantly better than the old 19" primacy MXM4 (1864lbs). Even the front for the 21 is no slouch (1819lbs isnt too much below the 1864lbs benchmark). The PS4 AS rear 21 is coming in late summer - as per Michelin, and if its load rating is anything above 1700 it should be just fine - that should be awesome news for those who hate 21 blowouts

Tesla should just remove the VIN and date until they have the car ready for delivery. The best thing to do is just wait for the SA to contact you when the car is ready. Doing anything else is just torturing yourself.
Just stop it. You make too much sense🤪. Really good feedback. Just remove the EDD altogether until you are matched and indeed working on logistics/shipping.

Some people express why a "fresh" car is important to them. I express why I think it's of no consequence.

All I hear is a bunch of voices yelling reasons to abandon ship. Maybe those same voices are music to some peoples ears. They sound like nails on a chalkboard to me. Party on.
And maybe you dismissing things that matter to others and that you don't care about is like nails on the chalkboard for the rest of us.

The 19s have Pirellis P Zero. I confirmed this in person.

At this point, I just want a car. As long as it's a refresh, it doesn't matter how long it's been sitting or when it was built.
