I tried to figure out what the rims would cost, but no one will call me back.
The wheels are $745 each. If folks are interested, I can post a bill of materials and pricing. TBH, the best way to go about this is via the app--open a ticket with the parts and quantities you want to order. They will respond with a quote with pricing with they will ask you to authorize.

The people at Signature created a thread for winter tire recommendations here
Thanks. I have seen that one but unfortunately it demonstrates my point. No one makes an OEM size tire that is the same tire on the front and on the rear (for the 19's or the 21's).

I ended up with Pirelli P Zero Winter 295/30R21's rears and Pirelli Sottozero Serie II 265/35R21's fronts. The tread is virtually identical and the load rating and specs match exactly with OEM other than the W rated instead of the Y for speed. It's just not something I should have to put all this research into. The company I bought it from won't mount them because they are not the same. Maybe Tesla will? If not I will have to take a 180k car to Mr. Shady or put the car on block while I take them in loose?

Not my pic but these are the tires. Left stack are P Zero Winter. Right stack are Sottozero Serie II in the above sizes.

Thanks for the heads up, my LR with white seats had its delivery move up from Late Dec to a 2 week window in early November. If I get a early Vin, I'll pass now.

Was getting kind of excited ...but I guess I can wait.
called Tesla and spoke with a lady in South Florida. The car assigned to me, MF430XXX, was built on May 10th. Three blue MS are coming to Orlando. Two are Plaids and one is showing a damage disclosure. Evidently Tesla has added some Plaids to inventory today.

If you are looking for a Plaid, try calling Tesla in your area for availability. They don't show up on the web site yet. Not all of the new releases are older builds. There was a MF452.

I am again tempted to get a Plaid, but I doubt it would make me any cooler. I would just get Peacock status.

In early September I went to my local Kal Tire and ordered a set of 19" winter tires, in the same dimensions as the OEM tires. Can't recall the details but will check next Tuesday when I take my 2015 S85D in for a pre-sale safety inspection.

Maybe, take two at a time to different Discount Tire (or similar) locations.

Whatever they are, tire rack does not have them. Just Touring and Performance. Also, the guys in the link posted above have not sorted it because they have no matching set. I have a feeling the front or rear is not OEM F:255/45R19 R:285/40R19.

Does Tesla hate you? Why are they giving you a 6 month old car?

OK, here is the all the 19" wheel info in one place if you want to stick to OEM specs:

Rims
Rims are $745 per, regardless of size:

Wheel Trim
You will need some sort of trim, either the Tempest wheel covers or center caps and lug nut covers. The Tempest covers are $30/each, the center caps are $15 each and the lug nut covers are ~$1 each. You can get grey center caps which a slightly darker than the wheel or black center caps. You can see the two options in this post: #26

Tire Pressure
You need TMPS modules and stem caps. The new cars use a BLE (low energy Bluetooth) TMPS module, so you need to get them from Tesla, they are $75 each--these are different units from prior models. I am sure 3rd party modules will eventually hit the market, unless Tesla is doing something weird with the BLE. The caps are a few cents each.

Tires
The Tesla spec for the tires is as follows--the top number is front, the bottom is rear:

I have found two tires that match that spec (I am sure this will change constantly, but this is as of this writing). The Continentals what Tesla supplies. The Michelin are what I went with. Do your research and see what works for you.

Hope the helps.

Are you going to pass on the early May car? @Ormond

how do you like the michelin's?

Man, this car purchase is starting to get to me. I just so badly want to call my service center and yell profanities and tell them to take their car and shove it. They finally returned my call/email after two days. The reason I can't pick up is lack of keys. I mean, they have had the car for a full week and it took a week to ship it. Did no one think in those two weeks that it might need keys? They moved my date to 10/30/21 which is exactly one week from my previous delivery date. Sound familiar? Yep, it's the same one week my delivery window moved the last 15 (not exaggerating) times. My SA at least confirmed they have no idea when the keys are coming and it's just a place holder. I want Audi, BMW, and Mercedes to prioritize acceleration like Tesla so I don't ever have to deal with Tesla again.

To add insult to injury, they can't recommend a winter tire setup, they don't sell loose 19" rims yet, and they have not bothered to register the VIN's in Canada yet so it is a nightmare getting insurance quotes. No joke, I have spent more than 12 hours on hold with insurance companies this week because online quote tools don't have the model or VIN loaded! I did end up getting insurance, so I called today to move the start date and they told me they made a mistake on the price and added $200 to the premium! AHHH!

If this car sucks after all of this I will just curl up in a ball and suck my thumb lol
They didn't have any of the 4 keys for the car? 2 keycards is all you need. The keyfobs you don't really need unless you don't have a smartphone. They can send those to you at a later date no? I'm trying to find a winter setup also.

how do you like the michelin's?
I really, really like them. They are very close to the 21s+Michelin PS4S in terms of performance and handling and I can see a lot of folks preferring the 19s+PSAS4 to the 21s+PS4S. I have seen some comments about noise/howling and its not something I have encountered. There is certainly no howling and at 70 mph there are within 1 dB of the 21s+PS4S--maybe that was a different wheel size of setup?

weird that shop wouldn't mount them for you. is there some law that says they must be the same make?
