How is one supposed to find the pedals without lights?
Right. I upgraded my prior MS's footwell lights. It was nice for picking up items off the floor and stuff, instead of using my phone. Also, the extra light adds some nice ambient lighting to the cabin in general. I can certainly live without these lights, but if I get a chance, will upgrade them. They look like LED strips, light the ones in the doors that are not activated.

Well, just picked up my beauty. Only 15 miles on the car.

This car is absolutely fantastic. Incredibly quiet compared to my prior 3 MS's. Massive difference. My 75D was fast enough. Super fast actually, and this car blows that one away.

The yoke is mostly a non-issue, except, exactly as I predicted, for the STUPID horn button!!!
I was planning on adding stalks, as per a hack on another thread, but really don't think that will be necessary. The turn signals function incredibly well. They are absolutely intuitive, and go off by themselves. I am actually really impressed on how the car knows whether I am just changing lanes to the left, or turning into a left hand turn lane. If just changing lanes, it immediately turns off. If I change into a left hand turn lane, the blinker stays on until I make the turn.

Ambient lighting: I have ambient lighting inside my doors. Under the door armrest and pointing down, lighting up both door pockets. Was this present on other MS's already delivered? Photo below. The light is actually white, not yellow. My phone did that.

Problems:
There are some mild panel gaps with the trunk and frunk, things I can live with, but will ask for adjustment.
There are some pretty large wrinkles in my driver's seat. No big deal, but I will ask for repair anyway since, heck, I paid a lot for this car.

The wife is away this entire weekend, so I get guilt-free time alone with my new toy!

Belated congratulation. If I may, a few questions.
Where did you pick up the car? Were you happy how you were treated? What accessories do you think you might wish to add (other then ambient lighting): floor mats, PPF, TINT, Etc
As you may remember, we had similar order dates And configurations. My window starts tomorrow and I am still waiting for a VIN. Best to you.

Belated congratulations. If I may, a few questions.
Where did you pick up your model S? How would you describe your treatment there?Besides ambient lighting, what accessories (if any) do you plan on adding: tint, PPF, floor mats, etc. As you may recall we have similar order dates and configurations. My EDD starts tomorrow and I have yet to receive a VIN. Again, congratulations.

For the those waiting for their delivery and as much as I hate Tesla's business method, the vehicle is worth the wait. I was at 6 months waiting when I took delivery in June. 18k miles later - and a lot of SC visits - I still love the car to drive.

Son is out hunting with his Eagle buds and so we took off for a 5 hour round trip pizza lunch. Could have taken one of the Jeeps and dogs but wanted to drive the Tesla. Not taking the dogs in the Tesla yet - so leaving them tells you how much I enjoy the Tesla.

Just when I think how much I regret doing this, I look at other cars and find all the flaws in those decisions. Every one is going to have the good and bad.

Tesla customer service can really suck at times. Their delivery process leaves a lot to be desired. The product - no matter how lacking to promises it is at - will not disappoint.

I picked up at Marina del Rey. Everyone was super nice.

One note: the lady working the front was obviously trained to deny certain customer complaints. When I told her about panel gaps, she immediately said "they are within Tesla specifications." The only problem with that statement: she didn't yet look at the gaps! Again, for me, they are really not bad. It was just a funny observation.

I’m starting some projects on the car today. The following is a list of mods:

  • Install my Escort 9500. This is the most time-consuming project I have, as I have to remove the entire frunk to gain access. This car is definitely a bit different than my priors, so it will take me a bit to figure this out.
  • Add extra lighting to the trunk. I did this with my prior three MSs as well, by adding 18 inch long LED strips under the lips that support the parcel shelf, and tapping into the existing (weak) trunk lights. Unfortunately, these are now lined with alcantara, and my strips will not stick. I'll figure out something.
Unlike the footwell lighting, this trunk lighting upgrade is incredibly useful.
  • I have a Blackvue dashcam left over from pre-sentry days. I may or may not install that. I haven't decided. The benefit is that it gives beautiful video and does not run down the battery.
  • Install a lighted-T up front. You cannot buy those anymore, so I am working to build one myself. I had this on my last few S's as well, but my last one that would fit this MS burnt out.
  • Buying a second set of 21" wheels from Signature. Keeping my 19's for long road trips and trips to Mammoth.

What’d I miss?
If you're desperate for news... here's my latest change... FWIW
My est DOD was Dec 10 - Dec 31 for a few months. Last week it moved to Dec 29 - Dec 31 and I thought this was a desperate attempt to squeeze my (California) delivery in by the end of the year. Now it's just moved up to Dec 11 - Dec 31 which gives me more confidence in delivery by the end of the year (I think).

Hopefully ill get mine soon. I wont allow friends in my car until a bit after. I dont want them to ruin my model s when they go in it. My family will be fine. But friends? Nope. A friend of mine spilled ice cream in my car. He’s 23 and I literally kept my cool trying to not fight him half way to our destination.

There are so few reports of 2022 LR/Plaid deliveries. I'm curious how the build quality is now, as compared to this past summer when that long list of issues checklist was prepared and posted (see link below). Has build quality improved? For those who used this checklist on a 2022 delivery, what issues still exist? What new issues are there? @WilliamG
