Wiki Model S Delivery Update

i got to know all of you. Why do you care I don't have a Tesla? I had 2 Plaids before. I'm a car enthusiast just like all of you. Sorry I don't agree with you and your viewpoints. Must be hard for you
But you have literally nothing to add to the delivery thread of Model S, right? I mean, Porsche owner now! Go enjoy your Porsche! Every time anyone brings up something it's like omg the Porsche is so much better built, and omg the Porsche steering wheel and omg the Porsche dynamics, and omg I'm so glad I don't have the vibrating Plaid anymore. Take it to a different forum, - really.

What's hard is wading through all the unwarranted/unrequested opinions, egos, inflated heights/statures (seriously, the average U.S. male height is 5'9"; how in the world do so many of you break that ceiling and insist on talking about it? Oh, yeah, never mind. It's the internet), and senses of entitlement in this DELIVERY FRICKEN THREAD...

Honestly, don't most of you guys have better things to do with your time, like, I don't know, bilk little old ladies out of a good portion of their lifesavings for unnecessary medical procedures or shoddy investments so you can afford another toy?

Please... let's keep this about delivery updates/timelines/intel and not chunk measuring/virtue signaling/millimeter differences in panel gaps side to side back to front up and down/PPF costs in a whole other GD state, let alone city/garage porn/how you absolutelypositvely MUST wash your car or you're a complete loser/why my one foot is better than your two feet (or vice versa) and GD hinges!

😘
To be fair, panel gaps belong in a delivery thread, because... you take delivery/notice these things as you take delivery/don't take delivery because of excessive panel gaps etc. Also, HINGES ARE IMPORTANT, HOW DARE YOU.

Like the 2025 Taycan and Macan. Range will be a lot better in 2025 and a big improvement overall in the whole car. Like the older Tacyans too, but could not live with the range, for as much as I travel. Good luck. Nice car!

My range isn’t much better than a Taycan. I do have sentry on but I only get about 250 miles max in my Plaid real world driving 70 mph.

What wheels do you have? OOS got 365 miles on the 19" wheels/tires at 70 MPH:

I just commented on the yoke and one Pedal driving. Said nothing about a Porsche. Look. I don’t want to spam this thread with arguments. PM me if you want to argue or converse. I still like keeping up with all of your deliveries and upcoming features of the S. I did mostly enjoy it.

Ah - I comparing to my refresh LR 19’s and my lifetime range is 338 and that is mostly freeway driving averaging 75 mph +/- some.
I'm assuming you meant consumption. My lifetime is 238 wh/mi, same car and wheel size, but not to brag since at least one poster is even lower.
I know I could do better if I slowed down too. Lol. That is a big difference.
At 70, should be 260-280 or so.

For transparency, here's a conversation I've been having with an employee at Fremont who works in part supply.

View attachment 1027211

I've been following this with them and another employee (who works on the debug line) for about three months, from the initial part order through delays and finally arriving at Fremont. Different part shipments are allocated for production (which is then utilized on the lines), and Tesla typically avoids storing too many of any one part at their service centers and/or sending it to collision repair shops.

An identical scenario happened last year with the transition to HW4 for Model S/X.

Around February 23rd, 2023, we began to report that Tesla had started producing vehicles with HW4 and the new cameras onboard. This news was a bit premature and equally received similar backlash that it was fabricated news. There *was* the infamous bad information from a delivery advisor who informed someone on February 20th that their vehicle included HW4, but this was corrected the same day.

Then, on March 5th, we finally began seeing deliveries with HW4 take place just weeks after the initial reporting.
Well @tylercorsair March has come and gone, and there is still no sign of these changes... Surely, they have built more than a couple hundred vehicles since March 12th... It seems like your sources aren't very reliable...

Is this about .... shhh, bumper camera and mood lights ... shhh, I didn't really say bumper camera.

I'm sure he'll be back to say "I never said it will start in March 2024, I just said AFTER the 1st of March sometime is when it will be possible that they will start doing it. Also, I never said 2024, you all just assumed that!" What a joke.

Yeah my round trip commute is about 130 miles and I’m using about 55% battery doing that (granted that includes sentry mode for about 10 hours). This is on 20” wheels with 265/295 ps4as. The drives do match closely with what the trip calculator predicts (with the wheel config set to 21”) I’m sure I can do better on the stock 19s. But they’re so ugly lol.

Oddly temperature seemed to have minimal impact.

Well, today's delivery news for the last quarter was disappointing, and surprised me how low they were. I expect further price cuts, and no new features for a while. This could be good news for those here expecting April - May deliveries.
I couldn't find a S in stock that I really wanted. I'm hoping / expecting last week's promotions get extended to factory orders this Q.
If trading in, transfer of FSD and/or FUSC (at least S and X; maybe Y and 3 should be ~$2K to transfer)? In the S and X, all colors should be the same cost or maybe less severe a delta. Lastly, its my (worthless?) opinion that FSD should come in 2 tiers, personal and business. Personal should be much less than $12K. Lastly, I hope the interior lighting, at the least, gets upgraded to be equivalent to the Highland.
