Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Got my blue P3- from Alexandria yesterday lunchtime.

Driver mirror wont adjust out, i thought it was broken. Turns out all rhd model 3's have the same problem. Not a biggy.

I had the same issue, it turns out that having too much vertical angle can limited the horizontal. If you angle the mirror down a bit you can adjust it out further and then angle it back up as much as necessary (or possible)

@Bowdad, mine is supposed to be at 11:30 today, no contact from anyone yet. Not sure going to Carways will help, cant reach Tesla as well, the no info is very frustrating.
Just went past Carways in Mitchell. Silver car just driven away by its owner it seems. No sight of big quantities, just the couple pictured. View attachment 459368

Mendol, Graz3r I finally got a call from Tesla in response to an email I sent. Their response was

The car is coming on the back of at truck, it can arrive any time today - the delivery driver is just that and will not be doing a run through of the vehicle. Once we've received it, we call Tesla on a number thats given and they then remotely walk us through the process.

You will get 30-45mins heads up before the car arrives, they'll call you to make sure you're there.

They have no support staff in Canberra so expect a "here's the car, do you accept it?" and then everything else over the phone.

Sorry, I should add - if you're like me and have a number plate already - they won't help with attaching it. We'll need to organise adding holes to the fresh new plate ourselves.

Thanks so much Bowdad. You asked the questions we were afraid might have answers we didn't want :)

Thanks Bowdad, that's helpful, and by the sounds of it we might even get the car today... waiting for the call then..

Another call for me, and probably others in the same boat here in Brisbane. My Friday morning delivery, which became a Saturday afternoon, is now a Monday night delivery. Apparently my car is still in Sydney. Once again, not going to hold my breath. I can now relax and just enjoy the weekend without wondering if it will turn up.

I can say already I do, my drill is super old and the battery lasts less than a minute - definitely not strong enough for drilling metal! Plus not sure of spacing for the Tesla Number Plate holders

Spacing is 210mm front and rear. Don't know about ACT plates, but in QLD this spacing is the same as the pre cut holes on a standard plate. The other option is to use a Kingpin cover and backing plate from Autobarn which is fully adjustable to any spacing.

If you don’t want to drill, you can just attach with double-sided tape. I removed the ugly plastic bracket from the front of my S and have my number plate stuck directly on the front bumper - follows the same curves as the bumper and looks nice I think.

Thanks guys. Heading to AutoBarn right now going to check out the covers and failing that tape

Same for me too sadly. Supposed to take delivery Saturday afternoon but now booked in tentatively for 9.00 am Monday morning. Not particularly thrilled but not surprised given the overall situation. Delivery guy claims delays with the transport company.
Spent most of my day yesterday with my mate who just took delivery of his SR+ and it is truly magnificent.

Suppose to get my P3- in Canberra home delivered in 20 minutes. Just called Carways on a whim to "confirm" before I take the afternoon off work. They know nothing about it. Sad face.

Tesla delivery specialist answered his mobile and then was a big Ooops, sorry mate, looks like we forgot to send it to Canberra. Still in Sydney. Probs should've called you to let you know."

Ya think? No estimate of when they will deliver now.

Somehow don't feel like working now anyway.

Went to AutoBarn and checked out the license plate holders, if I went for the standard plates in ACT I would have either A) already had holes in my plates, or b) be able to get a plate cover that doesn't require drilling.

But I decided to be a little special and get the European Plates (small front, big back - here's a pic of them 20190927_134028.jpg ), which don't come with holes and also don't have kits that don't require holes.

Next step - receive car, determine if it's going to be better to drill 2 holes and mount or use tape. Judging by Graz3r's picture in the previous page my assumption double sided tape should work - but may not adhere as well as to the paint directly.

Think drilling is going to be the way to go, Graz3r might hit you up on that offer for assistance.

That sucks! I'm really sorry to hear that, you've got me worried too. I followed after you and called, I got referred to Carways Sydney Office for more details, spoke to a man named James and he's now chasing up with Tesla where my car is... which was supposed to be delivered this morning. He did confirm that in the last 2 days 26 Tesla's have been delivered to Canberra but right not that doesn't include mine or yours.

Another option. Order a plate bracket from Lakin and use double sided tape until it arrives LAKIN Custom Plate Brackets, Add some CLASS to your car

Does anyone know if this is normal/expected?

Lots of paint bubbles, trunk interior edge (frunk also has these, but not as significantly):

Large paint folds in both corners, trunk interior:

Noticed when using one of the actual delivery checklist PDF's to do a more thorough pass over the car.
