Cant edit it out
Nope haven't heard of any..... think we missed the boat this time! Hopefully we'll catch the next one for mid-late December delivery Tesla have estimatedI assume no VINS have shown up for any other Irish orders?
Mines has a B and VIN came through yesterday so being Scottish make zero differenceVery interesting… is it possible that Scotland get a completely different batch to the ones that arrive in Southampton? *hmmm*

Interesting find. I have it down as:Found in another thread that they reckon K relates to a Chinese locally sourced rear motor: Tesla begins using locally produced motors in models built in China - CnEVPost where as B is an import.
Still, no idea what that actually meansInteresting find. I have it down as:
- K = Two Motors – Standard – Motortyp: “Hairpin Windings” – (Model Y)
- B = Two Motors – Further details unknown
Some of these K vins are getting 335 miles At 90% Batt. Again, no idea if that’s normal.Still, no idea what that actually means
My friends LR “K” VIN is charged at 100% with 335mi rangeSome of these K vins are getting 335 miles At 90% Batt. Again, no idea if that’s normal.
Me neither really. But if EU are getting “K” that must mean its the upgraded motor. The ones being offered “B” in EU were offered a 2k discount or to wait for “K”Still, no idea what that actually means
No, they are seeing a 335 full range figure irrespective of the current battery state. Some of these K vins are getting 335 miles At 90% Batt. Again, no idea if that’s normal.
A different motor, not sure we know it is 'uprated'. It has been common in the past for the LR to get the same rear motor as the Performance model and at other times a different one that has a lower power output - just depends on what is available at the time. An LR with the Performance motor doesn't perform differently as power output is software limited to the specification of the LR.Me neither really. But if EU are getting “K” that must mean its the upgraded motor. The ones being offered “B” in EU were offered a 2k discount or to wait for “K”
Don’t get me wrong, this is mostly speculation from what EU residents have been saying. The lower capacity battery pack came with “B” in the VIN. But that doesn’t affect UK customers because the stats listed on our website haven’t been updated. So people who got “K” are considered lucky due to its association with slightly improved specs. “K” is likely updated as the ’hairpin’ technology it uses is more efficient.People in mainland Europe were being offered a 2k discount because of the lower capacity battery pack, not because of a different motor.
