I was assigned a VIN overnight.

3/31 - Online (pre-reveal) reservation - Los Angeles, CA
3/22 - Invite
3/23 - Config - MSM, Aero, no EAP
5/1 (or maybe 4/30) - VIN assigned, 141xx
Delivery - TBD

Unless the car gets delivered by Friday (joking), I will have to defer delivery due to a extended vacation. I spoke with Tesla about 2 weeks ago when it seemed likely they were going to miss their initial 3-6 week estimate and they are on top of it. The delivery specialist indicated they will reassign this VIN to someone else and get me another car later when I am able to take delivery.

I hope whoever gets "my" first car enjoys it. After waiting two years for the car, more delay is a little disappointing but this approach certainly works out better for everyone. I'd rather the car was getting used by someone who appreciates it rather than sitting idle in my garage.

Vins are not sequential. I got a vin Sunday for a red aero and it’s 167xx

The VIN is "low" because sequences are reserved for certain combinations (primarily color). A look at the spreadsheet shows that this past week, all MSM Aeros were being assigned in the 14xxx range.

True, VINs are not sequential, but we have yet to see a VIN over 21 K, IIRC. If the factory really is over 2500 per week then I’m finding it increasingly difficult to believe that they haven’t saturated the VIN space below 20 K.

Same location, dates, config sans FSD here. No VIN yet. Congrats!
Congrats! You made me refresh my account (to no avail) based on your timeline and config. :)

So excited... now the wait for the call and delivery date. o_O

Excitement of one milestone reached followed quickly by the frustration of the next wait...

I plan to have a partial wrap on delivery day so that'll be the next wait.

What is going on with the Sports Wheels? There have only been a handful of VINs added to the spreadsheet over the past week.

I am still waiting a VIN for MSM, Sport, FSD configured on 4/3. Based on the spreadsheet, I have one of the oldest config dates to not receive a VIN.

Because there was a big backlog of aero wheel orders, below chart shows green as VIN assigned, and red as no VIN yet. You can see the sport wheels orders are getting filled ~1+ weeks ahead of aero wheels.

UZJedi, did you get autopilot? I'm wondering if I'm being penalized somewhat for not ordering it (I mean, it is $5k in pure profit, so I would understand)

I got 4/6 invite/config, red/aero as well... still waiting for VIN. Maybe delivery location is another consideration.

It's definitely not pure profit, a common misconception with software. R&D efforts are probably in the hundreds of millions, ongoing support and updates, cameras (installed even if not in use), etc.

If I were Tesla right now I would priority base off margin though, so you're right, it's possible they're pushing out cars ahead of you that have EAP enabled.
