Seems for some reason most (99%?) of the 20.1 releases are in California according to TeslaFi. Very weird. The X gets walk away lock and door unlocked confirmation, which we’ve been waiting for, cool. (3 already had part of that, S gets nada.)

Tons of 16.3.2 still rolling out also so it’s not like this is the new main release. Tesla strategy still unfashionable. :D

Also weird the only change is just dog mode. Maybe there is some law in California that they needed to address?

It doesn’t seem like the only change is dog mode. That’s just the only one other than “minor fixes and improvements” they called out. FWIW the car display doesn’t blink frivolous parked cars as much when you drive past them, and the ELDA/LDA nudging is now much less rapid/pronounced than it was before.

It seems like there’s some other changes they’re testing out too.

Not sure of that. People with 20.1 say that the nav still shows the Fremont V3 Supercharger as 150kW, plus it’d be in the release notes.

That SC does still show 150kW max in my nav screen and I’m on 2019.20.1, but others with 2019.20.1 who charged there today got more than 200kW :D

You should report this to the service center. You should be past 12.1 by now.
not really - the 12.x family is only one version back from the most common release family of 16.x.
There are more Model 3's on 12.x than there are on 20.x, so hardly cause for concern.
Much more important to make sure the car has a decent wifi signal when its parked.
My car was on 12.x less than a month ago.

I am disagreement with that assertion. I can say unequivocally that 2019.20.0.1 is NOT Early Access.

It's relatively rare, compared to 2019.20.1, so I think that's where the confusion is stemming from.

Three 2019.20.X firmware versions in the wild right now

  1. 2019.20.1 9973c22 - Not EAP - 218 installs on TeslaFi across S, 3, and X
  2. 2019.20.0.1 12619b8 - Not EAP - 37 installs on TeslaFi across S, 3, and X
  3. 2019.20 7043669 - Presumably EAP - 3 installs on TeslaFi, only on S and X

I can neither confirm or deny that I am a member of EAP. I CAN confirm that my car is currently utilizing 2019.16.2
From this information, you can come to your own conclusions as to which, if any, of the three iterations listed is actually EAP.

Someone honoring the NDA? I'm shocked!

Okay, so maybe we're going in circles, EAP isn't necessarily associated with specific firmware versions, and can be added to firmware versions that are also out for non-EAP. Maybe EAP changes the 7 digit hash at the end of a firmware version, for e.g....

Unless you're referring to a different 2019.20.0.1 than the TeslaFi one of 2019.20.0.1 12619b8, then you're wrong. Which... TeslaFi has no record of.

Here's a thread that specifically is saying 2019.20.0.1 has smart summon, which is EAP only:
Smart Summon 2019.20.0.1

That's also the same guy who posted the two videos of smart summon.
