Did you try the reinstall software option through hidden Service Menu?My update failed too. Did any of you get the "Software update required. Schedule service" message, on the screen behind the steering wheel? The update installed, but it broke my car. I can drive it, but there is no TACC or anything. Probably no automatic breaking either. This is at least the 4th time I've had this problem with an update. About a year ago they wouldn't push any new firmware to me. They just said to bring it in and gave me an $1800 estimate. I thought **** that and just waited for the next update. The next update fixed everything. It sucks not having at least TACC though. I'm glad I don't have any road trips coming up.
I was pretty sure that I had an install fail and that 'reinstalled' what was new and *already* downloaded. I'm almost certain of it.That just reinstalls the version that is already installed. It does not install a new, or pending, version. (No OTA involved.)
Someone else said this too, maybe on Reddit. My guess is they are tweaking this download (maybe sub-version) without changing the version number, perhaps grandfathering in cars that had this installation problem. But just a swag. I'd probably risk installing whatever it is asking for in this case.I got pushed the update again despite already having it. Anyone else have this issue?

My 12/2016 MX was upgraded about 2½ years ago with the HW3 and camera upgrades at no charge, and I paid for the MCU2 upgrade. At that time, I very soon received my first FSD software upgrade. I currently have the FSD 12.3.4 upgrade.My model X has the new cameras and FSD computer but it is MCU1. Contacted Tesla service they have no clue when Tesla will release FSD To my vehicle. They suggested that I pay to upgrade to MCU2 and hopefully I will get FSD sooner without any assurance that it will be the case.
Any ideas or suggestions on how to get the FSD that I’ve paid for ? BTW they won’t refund my money.
Pay for the MCU2 upgrade and then small claims court for the $2k that you paid. It's not too difficult. Others here, have done it.
