Do I need to install 2024.2.7 to get 2024.3.15, or should I wait?
Doubt it but also probably would not hurt.

Teslascope is showing vehicles getting 12.3.4 are coming from 2023.44.30.14 and 2024.2.7 (mostly legacy S/X) as well as 2024.2.13, 2024.2.100, 2024.2.200 (mostly HW4 Model 3). As long as you're not on 2024.8.x, MCU2 should be getting this.

TeslaFi currently shows 575 S/X pending 2024.3.15, and I estimate around 615 legacy S/X with HW3 in US/Canada on 2024.2.7, so it seems to be going to nearly all.

I was going to bed and saw that an install was downloading on my phone. Installed it in ~44 min and went for a drive as well as test the auto-park. Both went well and it had some new / better behavior in regards to getting into the correct lane before a future turn. Going on a roadtrip so timing worked out well.

Aside: Curious thing is I saw it start charging a couple times during the install but they were both only for several minutes. Wonder if they were testing systems or topping off 12v battery (Ohmmu in my case).

I have a 12/2016 MX with the HW3 and MCU2 upgrades. I have been on 2024.2.7 for the last 3-4 weeks. I was just offered to install the 2024.3.15 upgrade. I started the install and about a ½ hr later it gave me the dreaded "software update failed" error. I'm glad I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but this is the first failed upgrade I've ever had. Drats!

Just got it on my unicorn 2017 Model X with upgraded MCU1 —> MCU2 and cameras (was at 2024.2.7 previously). Now just wondering if they will send it out for my 2016 Model S unicorn that still has MCU1 (currently at 2022.8.10.17)….
I seem to recall a year or so ago that one or two MCU1 owners claimed somewhere that they had received FSD Beta — and it worked ok. That would truly make them unicorns of the rarest type but I wonder if those couple cars have continued to be updated or if it was some kind of mistake in their favor that they had received some version of FSD Beta. As for the remaining thousands of MCU1/FSD owners, I admire the stubbornness of anyone who purchased FSD but refuses to buy MCU2 because Tesla had said seven years ago that they had all of the hardware needed for FSD. But isn’t it clear after these many years that was a lie?

Try tweeting Rohan Patel for an answer whether MCU1 cars are still being evaluated for v12. His prior tweets last week were vague on the topic of cars like yours, perhaps deliberately so.

I got the 2024.3.15 update to my 2017 X this morning, started the update but failed after sometime. No retry option so far.
Did either of you go into the 'service' menu and do the reinstall OTA option. I've done it once successfully after a failure. The software is already on your 'harddisk' partitions so it just reinstalls what is there.
