The next big milestone for FSD is 11. It is a significant upgrade and fundamental changes to several parts of the FSD stack including totally new way to train the perception NN.

From AI day and Lex Fridman interview we have a good sense of what might be included.

- Object permanence both temporal and spatial
- Moving from “bag of points” to objects in NN
- Creating a 3D vector representation of the environment all in NN
- Planner optimization using NN / Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS)
- Change from processed images to “photon count” / raw image
- Change from single image perception to surround video
- Merging of city, highway and parking lot stacks a.k.a. Single Stack

Lex Fridman Interview of Elon. Starting with FSD related topics.

Here is a detailed explanation of Beta 11 in "layman's language" by James Douma, interview done after Lex Podcast.

Here is the AI Day explanation by in 4 parts.

Here is a useful blog post asking a few questions to Tesla about AI day. The useful part comes in comparison of Tesla's methods with Waymo and others (detailed papers linked).

11.4.7 did not blow my mind:

1. Did not stop for stop sign in a neighborhood when making right turn. No car, no people around though. Maybe FSD thinks it's OK do this?
2. At one intersection I had to press the accelerator to make the car move straight when red light changed to green light. Maybe the car saw something I did not see? I doubt it.
3. Did not smoothly make the right turn to neighborhood when exiting from a 50 mph street. The wheel jerked in the middle of the turn.
4. Slammed on break (not too long though) when a car from behind moving closer on my left side. 11.4.4 had this too.
Yep, this is pretty much how 11.4.4 is behaving. Not mind blowing for sure. I’m still in 11.4.4, but if had to bet, 11.4.7 will still make the same errors 11.4.4 does.

I received 2023.26.11 a few hours ago with 11.4.4 FSDb on my HW3 2022 Model 3 with ultrasonics
Interesting. I do see on TeslaFi and Teslascope a small number of HW3 vehicles getting 2023.26.11, which has so far mostly gone to HW4 vehicles. Maybe not many so far as most of these HW3 vehicles were already updated to 2023.26.10 already with 11.4.4, but good to know that the newer version supports both HW3 and HW4. Perhaps yet another indicator of Tesla preparing a single version for wide release of 11.4.7 to all vehicles?

Got 11.4.7 today also.
It now reduces max speed on highway for rain. From 85 to 70 in my case.
Repeater cameras are much better
The auto wiper function is now gone.
Drove through a storm, they never turned on.
Did a 2 button reset, they still wouldn't come on.
Creep is better and so is the last minute hard braking.
Still camps in left lane after passing.

This slowing for rain has been occurring since 11.4.4

Creep is better. I've only used it once since it installed, but that was very noticeable to me. It still oddly made some bizarre lane selections, for example if you need to make a right turn at a traffic light, but there is another dedicated right turn lane that goes into a shopping center. I'm hoping it gets rid of the phantom brakes I've had at specific intersections as well as with flashing yellow intersection signals. I'm hoping to see more progress since 11.3.6, but for now until I use it more, it's just been the creep behavior that is much better.

If the improved auto-wipers have been removed, I’d rather stick with FSD(wtf) and manually drive.
working wipers is better than playing “guess where FSD will mess up” every day.
Mind you, it rains so infrequently here that even Tesla could release two versions before it rains again
The thing that gets me is how staggering the achievement to get this far, but it still seems so far to a driver you would trust.

Got 11.4.4 yesterday with update 2023.26.11. 2023 HW4 MS. I traded a 2017 MS (HW2.5) with FSD Beta back in May to get this one. While some few had the option to report disengagements, I did not. I had the camera feature initially but that was removed when they switched to a short audio recording option. Now with this new update, I magically have the audio clip option for disengagements. Wonder if everyone getting 11.4.4 on HW4 is getting this option?

Got the Update.
2023.7.30
MYP 2022
Tesla Electric Customer.
Debating on Canceling FSD. Fragmentation Sucks.
You won’t be sorry canceling it. I have been weened off for 2 months and haven’t missed it yet. When something meaningful gets released it’ll just be a button press and $200 a month away…

Did 2023.7.30 break auto wipers for everyone or just me?

Not just you... since updating on Sunday morning my auto wipers will trigger at random while driving down the road - slight overcast day but no rain. But then this morning an absolute downpour and the auto wipers didn't come on by themselves at all. I had to manually adjust the wiper speed.
