Wiki Model S Delivery Update

How do you guys know the stages of your car? I ordered mine 8/25 and confirmed 8/28. My sales rep says it will be done by the end of September but it doesn't say its in production or anything on the website. It just says sheduled. Thanks. I'm in Nevada and could easily take delivery in Fremont so maybe they are building cars for nearby delivery last?
It is possible right, since you are in Freemont, you may get the delivery by end of september. It is always the delivery that takes another 10 - 20 days time. So barring that and if at any time in september they start your production they may end it by end of september and you are ready to take it.

You could always check the Model S Delivery Order & Delivery 2017 spreadsheet to see how others like you are doing. The EoQ push compresses the schedule towards the end of September and production and delivery seems to be more expedited than normal....

Order update:

MS 75D EAP APH3 Premium Package
8/19 - Ordered
8/23 - Confirmed
9/9 - Production Start
9/13 (sometime between midnight and 7am): Delivery window updated to September 24, 2017- October 8, 2017
9/13 10am - Email from DS indicating my Tesla is preparing for transit. Offers delivery from 9/23 onward and told me to complete my trade in paperwork.
9/13 3pm - Turns out 9/23 delivery not available (booked). Scheduled and confirmed for 9/25. No deliveries on Sunday :'(

Status on MyTesla is still "Your Tesla is currently in production."

What do I think this means? I think that when my Model S was physically completed (rolled off the line) a delivery window was estimated based on transit schedules. At the same time my DS was notified internally to schedule delivery. I know the next state is "Production complete. In transit" or something to that effect. I feel like they are missing a "Production complete. Awaiting transit" state. Based on that I think anyone with an estimated delivery window (with dates) in myTesla is actually production complete and they are just waiting to put the vehicle on a truck/train/ship.

Can anyone else confirm a similar experience?

Lots of updates today:

Can't edit my previous post.
9/13 6pm - Received final paperwork to sign. Status updated to "Your Tesla has been built and is in transit from the factory." Delivery estimate updated to September 20, 2017- September 27, 2017.

Maybe it will be earlier then even the DS though although the 25 is in that range.

From what I understand the dates on my tesla aren't always accurate and may be controlled by the DS. I am in that same production window on the east coast. My DS says the cars are finishing production but he is waiting for the cars to be on a truck in California before setting anything up for loan or delivery. I think different DS take different tacks on setting expectations

I just talked to my DS today. Scheduling delivery for 9/28 at the Fremont, CA delivery center. Car will go into production on 9/19. No indication of that on mytesla.

Production 9/9

To me, it looks like the end of the quarter goal push California (especially Bay Area) orders to the very end of the quarter to be able to minimize in-transit inventory pushed to Q4. Has anyone who has ordered after July in Bay Area seen their car move to manufacturing yet?

I ordered 8/12 for Fremont delivery, but the car is still in "Your Tesla order has been confirmed and scheduled for production in our factory." state.

I was told Fremont deliveries will start production around 9/19. My DA just got me confirmed for 9/28 at 2pm delivery for my car that goes into production on 9/19.

Order update: Model S 75D w/ EAP, PUP

8/26 Order placed
8/30 Order confirmed
9/8 In Production
9/13 Production complete. Awaiting transport.

My DS provided this info and confirmed that they are able to track each car as it is shipped across the country. He remains confident in an end of Sept delivery, barring issues crossing the border. I have to say that my DS has been ultra responsive and usually gets back to me within the same day with answers to my questions. A great customer experience so far!

The My Telsa page for my car remains out of date -- still showing the car in production and delivery in Oct.

We'll be having cars with very fresh paint :) Apparently, not just a figure of speech, someone mentioned on this forum that this is a real problem and advised not to wash the car for a few weeks after delivery or be at least be very gentle if one does.

Hello,

I've been lurking here for a while, passing time as I wait for my delivery. Finally shipped out today, hoping to pick up next week. Here's my timeline (taking delivery in San Antonio)

Model S 100 w/ EAP, white interior, carbon fiber, obsidian black, premium upgrades
Order: 8/11
Confirmed: 8/14
Production: 9/6
Completed: 9/13
Estimated Delivery Range: 9/20- 9/27

Still trying to hammer down a pick up date with the delivery specialists. I've been assigned 3 or 4 different specialists (two of which I never had any contact with) and have spoken with at least 3 or 4 others. No major complaints but it would be nice if I didn't feel like I was trying to chase these guys down a week before delivery (I didn't work though the local showroom for my order, not sure if that's an option for custom, but I notice most of the assigned specialists have been from CA or AZ). I know I'm not the first to have that problem though :)

Ya I read that too.. I am picking up Thursday and then taking a few days and driving back home to WA along the coast with the wife. Then will get it cleaned up and some wrap on it.

dont fret. the car actually only takes less than 24 hours to be built in the factory. "production" includes a lot of other steps though thats why it shows several days.

I don't understand how they build the cars.

Order confirmed: Aug 11th
Production started: Sep 7th
Still says in production.
Don't understand why it's taking so long to produce. Delivery window is end of month. Too tight.

It takes 4-7 days to go through the full production process. You should be a day or two from exiting production to transit. With the EoQ push, they seem to be transporting coast to coast in less than 7 days, so you should be well within the end of the month. Mine started production 9/2, completed 9/8, arrived in MA today 9/14, and I'm picking up Monday 9/18.

Tesla site says that Delivery Oct - November. However the DS says that the car would come late September.
If that's the case, our car might get shipped at the same time. Just saying if they are trying to meet EOQ goals.
