all because they had to wait to get 30km of Electric Range
Anything that can't charge @ at least 50kW, shouldn't be tying up DC charging infrastructure.
The Outlander I think peaks at a measly 22kw.

Albeit. It's only useful if there are 3 or 4 CCS2 plugs. If they all get rolled out with CCS2/CHAdeMO it will only be good for the Leaf owners.
4 bay charging stations should be designed with 3 CCS2 and 1 CHAdeMO. The market share of CHAdeMO cars is reducing every day. There is absolutely no need for a 50/50 split anymore.
PHEVS shouldn't using DC fast chargers in my view. There was an Outlander driver blowing up in Bathurst the other day because a Tesla was charging at the NRMA stall.
The PHEV can just drive to the nearest petrol station.
By that you mean the NSW Government program. The Government has a strong preference for DCFCs funded under this programme to be 350 kW - so by default that means 4 x CCS2.

I'm guessing, but the limiting factor in some locations (e.g. in north Qld) might be the available power supply. Spacing stations out every 150-200km could require compromises in this area.building a proper network where the car will be the limiting factor not the charging unit.
They are serious about building a proper network where the car will be the limiting factor not the charging unit.
I don't believe any of the outages at Goulburn have been pinned on the battery. In fact the battery has kept the servo operating when there was a widespread power outage!Yes there’s some tricks available like sticking a huge battery in the middle, as seen in Goulburn, but as we’ve seen that comped solution has led to a lot less reliability than the nearby Superchargers.

PHEVs shouldn’t have DCFC ports, the outlander is an oddball.A few days ago I pulled up at the Chargefox in Euroa with a Leaf already using one stall. When I came back from the toilet a PHEV Outlander had taken up the 3rd and final stall. Imagine what it'll be like with more PHEV out there.
I think that’s misguided. Availability of stalls should be first priority. Instead of 2x350kw, I’d much rather see 4x120kw.
If there’s grid supply limits far better to use 700kw for 4-5 slower stalls rather than 2x350.
And right on cue all of the Goulburn Chargefox chargers are out of action right now.
Yep, just you. NRMA had filled up plans for NW NSW pretty wellBrewarinna in the north, though maybe I just hadn't noticed it.
Looks like NRMA have added a site in Wollongong to their map and plugshare. Appears to be council carpark at 17 Stewart St.
Will likely be up an running before Tesla Superchargers coming in Q4 2021NRMA have added a site in Wollongong
They could put a fryer oil powered unit in Tibooburra!NRMA had filled up plans for NW NSW pretty well
