SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Picked up my car today. So far all of my concerns were for nothing. Not knowing about these forums is probably better than knowing about them pre-delivery... View attachment 396671 In reality I learned a lot but also scared myself almost to the point of not buying.

My car has no swirl marks in the clearcoat. That is something I have read about "a lot" on here, other forums and Reddit. My delivery center, Highland Park IL, did a great job detailing the car and not messing it up. I looked over the paint at home with a good light and I can't find any flaws. I'm not an auto detailer but nothing seems out of the ordinary. I also notice no panel gap issues. I inspect our 2012 Camry Hybrid and it's chrome doesn't line up on the drivers side. I never noticed after all these years until reading forums.

I get that these issues *do* happen. I actually checked out one of the other 3s being picked up and I didn't see anything wrong with it externally.

My car is dead silent. I know it is new and squeaks and rattles come with age but off the lot it has no issues. It also has substantially less road and wind noise than our 2012 Camry hybrid.

When we picked it up there were two other 3s being delivered, a family deciding between an S and X, and many test drives occurring. They were very busy and I had in my head it would be dead because "no demand" (once again Internet FUD).

SR+, MSM paint, purchased before the $500 and $2000 price increases. Next weekend I am going to ceramic coat it (DIY).

Autopilot is enabled and we didn't do anything and the delivery specialist was confused then said "must be a trial." I have read of trials but we didn't enable it and the car had 15 miles on it.

One thing I don't like is how dark it is inside with the interior lights. I hope they software unlock the "ambient lighting" for a reasonable price. I'd buy it. I'd also possibly buy premium audio if it sounds better without the amp installed. Right now it is better than our Camry but not blow me away impressive.

I also have a 500GB hard drive installed, 400GB for dashcam and Sentry and the rest for music.

Congrats on your new ride! I picked up my SR+ last month and the AP trial was already enabled (30 days just ended - so no more AP for me)

Im getting a VIN 307xxx being offered to me after I made some changes. Before it was 361xxx. Anyone know when 307xxx would have been produced and if there are differences between then and now? Thanks!!
I have a SR+ 294xxx vin with build date in March 2019, so 307xxx would probably be at least in March. I doubt there's any difference in the car that matters. The only thing potentially changing is the FSD capability with HW3, but it doesn't really matter because if you have HW2.5 and order FSD, you'll get it replaced. If you don't need FSD, then even HW2.5 is more than sufficient.
With that said, if you want the ride ASAP, go for it. If you want to save a few bucks, wait 'til end of June, based on what we have seen the past few months, Tesla will likely drop price again by then.

Your post is encouraging me to wait a little especially to see how the HW3 production pans out. My only concern would be Tesla pulling the SR off menu.

If you want SR with no AP, then buy it NOW. SR with AP might have a little price wiggle room near June, but there's also the probability of Tesla pulling SR all together.
If I didn't get my SR+ last month and have to make a decision today, I would still take SR with AP for 38k. The difference between SR and SR+ simply isn't enough to justify the cost difference.

Is the only difference heated front seats, battery lock, maybe some navigation, and maybe streaming music?

If I bought a base 35 k anyone know how much to add AP later? My Tesla advisor said she did not have that price yet.

From what my advisor said, they don't know what AP will cost after the fact or what it will cost to upgrade from the SR to the SR+ at a later date.

Also, the SR is missing 1 more speaker (tweeter in the middle of the dash) and is probably 0.3 seconds slower from 0-16.

anyone think SR w/o AP might have a little price wiggle room near June? or is 35K rock bottom?

Traditionally when Tesla has moved a model “offline” to where you have to call the order in to sales, the model has gone end of line within a short time period. I would expect SR to follow this trend. If you’re thinking about buying an SR I would not wait. It will never go below $35K. They can’t make any money on them at $35K and they don’t really want to sell them. It’s just a matter of saving face since Elon promised a $35K Model 3 would eventually be available.

$3k before you take delivery. $4k after. Just took delivery of mine yesterday, I paid the $3k before. I think potentially it's $3500 during the trial, but I'm not sure about that since I already had it. The FSD is $7k to add for me today, even during the trial.

did anyone here get a "midflight" SR+ at old 37.5K price, but with now standard AP included "free"?

Picked mine up yesterday. Was quite surprised. I ordered a $35K standard and paid $3K more for Autopilot. When I got there, it was a partial Premium interior - I didn't say anything to the Tesla rep! After I left, the sales stuff said it was a Standard Plus Range and $37.5. I think I got the midflight that you described. I also think I got very lucky. I ordered in Feb. or early April.

partial Premium interior is now included on SR but what's the price on MVPA and range?

My AP 30-day trial expired a few days ago...cost of AP is $3k on my Tesla account page..
