Any idea when charging speed and range will improve?

Specifically, I should be able to drive 2.5 hours without a charging stop and charge for just 20 minutes and then travel another 2.5 hours.
I am probably looking for high speed charging.
I cant convince myself to buy an EV without this.
Why are you repeatedly posting this in multiple threads? As soon as I saw your "AI" icon I knew what the post would say.

If the previous posted answers haven't convinced you, here's a real-world example: the first leg of my often-proven plan to get from Victoria BC to Reno, a trip we have taken 5 or 6 times in the 3.5 years we've owned a Model S. So the plan at this point is really just copied and tweaked a little depending on side trips or whatnot. Do I need to plan every trip? Well, no, but I find this plan template that I've developed helps us determine timing for when we'll be certain places, and it also gives us a good feel about overall travel day lengths -- we don't like going more than about 500-600km (350-400mi) in a day although this trip requires an 800km first day so we get to Reno on the second day.

I used this format planning our 17,000km trip to the east coast in 2014. You can see that we drive 2 hours or so, and stop for 20-30 minutes. The hour-long planned stop was for lunch. We may or may not stop at Springfield, depends how exuberant I happen to be driving.

We almost always find that the car is ready before we have finished our own body breaks, whether that's a walk, grabbing a leisurely coffee, a bit of shopping. And the payback there is far less fatigue at the end of the day.

It is a leap of faith. And I am so thankful that we took the leap.

This has been my experience as well. And after four years and 90K miles, it's been well worth it.

Here is an update on the status of North American "Coming Soon" superchargers. There were by my count 283 on the Find Us page as of April 24th which claimed to have a target opening date in 2017. 11 stations have come online (including expansions), which is a pace which would complete about 23% of Tesla's ambitious 2017 supercharger network expansion plans by the end of the year. Below is a list of the 39 sites for which we have information or at least rumors on their location.

Just an FYI: the main Tesla supercharger page (Supercharger | Tesla) has been updated. Interestingly enough, it seems like they removed a lot of the "specifics." For example, they no longer have the graph that used to show charge vs. time on a 90 kWh battery.

There is a new charge time animation indicating about 80% charge in 30 minutes.

I wonder if this website change is in preparation for new Supercharger V3 info that might come out soon? Or more info about true capabilities of 100 kWh batteries? Model 3?

Covering up old lies. Obfuscating actual charge rates.

It appears they actually released two different 90 packs. They changed right around the time of the refresh. The charge graphs probably changed too and it was too confusing to try and distinguish the difference, they just took it down.

Most of the current U.S. buildout of the TSCN is occurring where it will be cold in four or five months. There may also be construction occurring elsewhere along I-90/94 that we are unaware of. This makes sense to me as it is much easier to buildout the TSCN in good weather conditions.
In my neck of the woods, I wish I-10 were able to be connected from Casa Grande, Arizona through Fort Stockton, Texas. BUT... It's hot out there. 115º or more, so it makes sense to build out these southern locations during the cooler months of October, November, December, January, February, March.
I guess time will tell if we see many construction cones (on supercharge.info) in the southern half of the U.S. come the fall.

...of 2014, 2015, or 2016?
Not poking at you, but more at how people can always come up with excuses of why Tesla has constantly just not gotten around to the I-10 route for a few years.

16 stalls and essentially completed before Arlington, WA was found.
Supercharger - Arlington, WA
This bodes well for other sites out there. The TMC super sleuths are slacking off.
Here's another one just reported and again, just about completed: Supercharger - Falls Creek, PA
