What other tech stock to consider?

Well, I don't know much about them but we just installed a 10 Kwh/p system on our roof with Benq modules (most probably same cells as SPWR) and SolarEdge with their module-optimizers and an inverter. I like the system a lot as you can get statistics and surveillance on every module and if you...

    EU Market Situation and Outlook

Well, first of all its not very easy to just buy a car in Germany and then sell it in Switzerland, especially not a brand like Tesla where buyers expect hassle free service etc. Second, Tesla will get more from their CHF sales (not that they are that many) so probably they will adjust the CHF...

Last week I sold some JASO June 11 covered calls (terrible timing). I bought back most of them, but let a few run because I am overweight on JASO anyway and did not mind if some shares would have been called away. As JASO finished on 11.01, 1k shares have now been called away. I really do hope...

    EU Market Situation and Outlook

    EU Market Situation and Outlook

There is another point. Most of the Model S bought in the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland (plus from all the other countries) and Norway will drive on the German Autobahn quite frequently. A dense SC coverage in Germany is a big plus for those markets! Borders here are quite open these days....

    EU Market Situation and Outlook

well, Elon's stated goal was to win the german market and for that you need a very dense SC distribution (High speed autobahn, germans attraction to cheap/free things). I think it makes sense to start building a dense network in central europe, where also the most potential buyers are waiting...

Its pretty obvious: http://www.auto-schweiz.ch/fileadmin/3_Statistiken/Autoverkaeufe_nach_Modellen/ModellePW2014.xls Its a pretty bad way of reporting stats, but its very obvious that the current month is the total from Jan up to that month, unless you expect increasing sales month by month for...

Problem with lithium is that there is no direct spotmarket for it. Buyers have to negotiate directly with the producers, hence i would not consider lithium(carbonate) as a traditional commodity. Thats why i have a small position in LIT ETF, which covers multiple players in the lithium industry

    Tesla Gigafactory Investor Thread

As far as I know, most lithium reserves are actually in North-/Southamerica, so shipping costs could be cheaper in total! But as you said, shipping will not be a huge cost factor anyway

Not really, still well below the threshold for the highest commission bracket (which is 10'000 monthly) ;). Rates are here: https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=commission&p=options1#america - - - Updated - - - well, they charge you 1$ minimum per trade, but not per contract!

well, luckily these kind of restrictions don't affect me. Didn't know about this Wash rule, learned something new. Lucky to live in a place where you don't have to worry about tax on capital gains... I would try calling my broker in this case, there might be a solution.

if you have a second account somewhere, you could buy them just by yourself with the second account. Thats what i tried once with my IB accounts. Edit: Depends ofc of the usual ask and bid's. If the incremental is 5 cent and there are no ask's on 5 cent, then it can work. Otherwise you risk...

I have the feeling this bloodbath is now over, added some JKS, CSIQ and SOL. Wish I would have more cash around, long-term some of these prices are just ridiculous. The Cramer-show showed again that the market is still very much afraid of what happened 5 years ago, they don't get that the...

this. I think it is an combination of different factors, as sleepy is saying all the time: Don't try to understand the short-term market reaction's on solar. I didn't want to imply that falling oil prices will cause lower solar demand (might have a very small correlation) but just that the...

there is a reason in my opinion. The cheap iranian oil which will pull down oil prices in 2014 seems to be the reason + I guess we are currently in a solar correction phase. Nothing exceptional after + 10x gains this year so far.

Discussion of statistical analysis of vehicle fires as it relates to Model S

Well, I have a few concerns with your analysis/creating of the dataset. First of all, the mexican car fire shouldn't count to the 3 fires. But if you count it in, you have to expand the dataset of ice-cars to Mexico as well. Most probably expanding that dataset to the Mexico wouldn't actually do...

Im getting more and more concerned that a general sell-off in the market will occur soon. One can kind off smell the nervosity right now. I dont see the problem for TSLA. They can't penetrate every market at the same time. And it was obvious to serve the market with probably highest demand (and margins), Norway.
