The next big milestone for FSD is 11. It is a significant upgrade and fundamental changes to several parts of the FSD stack including totally new way to train the perception NN.

There has been a near-perfect observation that "factory builds" that come on new cars and commonly end as yours does with the digits .n00 never directly go to FSDb builds. If this pattern still holds, you should expect to get a non-FSDb "regular" build within a few weeks, with a base higher than 2022.44 and subsequently to get an FSDb build with a higher base than either.

To give a somewhat recent real example: I took delivery on a model 3 which arrived with 2022.28.300 on November 3. I was offered 2022.40.4.1 on November 1, but did not install it, foolishly thinking I could hope to go straight to an FSDb version. Then on December 7 I installed 2022.40.4.2, which got me out of the factory version, but not yet into FSDb. Then I was offered and installed 2022.40.4.10 also known as FSDB 10.69.3.3 on December 17.

Your pace may vary, but I think that sort of sequence is what you can expect. You can perhaps hasten things a little by going to the software tab in the car once a day. That triggers a check, which usually just claims you are already up-to-date, but occasionally triggers a download somewhat sooner that it would have come on its own.
Not true. Mine went directly to FSD 10.69.25.1 back in December.
 
Yes - school zones are a problem. Usually there will be lead cars so the car slows down (and I reduce speed limit).

If there is no lead car, you have to reduce speed quite a bit in advance sine FSDb takes a long time to reduce speed.
My Volvo XC90 has no issues identifying school zones and speed limit associated with them. Even when FSDb is not engaged my 2023 M3 can’t do that. I don’t see why Tesla can’t see this and at least warn the driver it’s there. I understand Taking action(slowing car) may be difficult, but why not acknowledge the school zone is there?

What good does it do for the car to identify the school zone if it does not take correct and effective action? Better to leave it to the driver. You can clearly see that you are entering a school zone, right?

To be clear, the car can read that sign, it just ignores it and leaves it to the driver to manually lower the speed if they deem it necessary. The alternative is to lower the speed and let the driver increase it manually if they deem necessary.

I'm sure they have it on their "to do" list.

Agreed. The problem with acting is it most likely will be too late and the slow down process too long which could result in a potential traffic violation. The other is school zones are dynamic(at least in Texas they are) so it could be difficult to act consistently. In Texas most school zones have blinking yellow lights when active although there are some that only have stating the time of day it’s active.

Action can vary, if Tesla can read the sign why not signal to the driver with an audible chime or something to remind them it’s there and that they are in a school zone? Even if FSDb doesn’t slow the car down alerting the driver is certainly a nice safety feature to have.

We are all human and many folks traveling through a school zone don’t intentionally ignore them. Having some sort of assisted technology would certainly increase the safety features and potential save lives.
