The escort ci (2009????) cost
Me over 2 grand to get installed into front and rear bumpers on my AMG-GTS. There was
A company called Mid City Engineering in Chicago that created a stealth interface that showed through the speedometer and sounded through car speakers. Worked great for radar and laser.
I will check out AL Priority. Who installed it. I think you are about 100 miles from me. But for a trusted shop, I would travel. I moved to LA 2 years ago.
ALP is top dog for laser. Stinger has fiber heads which are pretty awesome tho

Okay, so before you say anything, yes I understand this is over-the-top. I wrote a small python script to watch my Tesla account for changes and to publish those changes to MQTT, which is wired up to my Home Assistant setup. I then wrote an automation in Home Assistant to flash the lights in my office if either 1) a VIN shows up or 2) the delivery date changes. This is gonna save me a lot of time I'd otherwise waste watching paint dry (on my new car). :)

AL priority makes the best jammers by far. They make a very good radar detector. The AL Priority combination is a couple grand less than the equivalent system from Escort. If one could use a radar detector mounted on the windshield I’d probably go with Escort. Due to the metal oxide in the windshield one needs to mount a remote system in the front and or rear bumpers
I’m considering trying out a stinger package. They have a new radar antenna, and the fiber heads are sweet. No custom stealth plastic needed

I am really hoping for an update this week, but still a July ESD for me. Been that way since the Plaid+ conversion—funny how I was willing to wait a year, but now can’t wait a few weeks 🙃

Seeing VINs being assigned, trucks loaded with cars, and others in this thread like @Dcher having fun with their new toy is making it really hard to keep waiting!

Feeling like @Spartan71 :

Some serious supply chain and people (non-work) issues i assume. I have a tv, new model appliance, new model routers, furniture….. everything 4,5 7 even 8 months delayed (my tesla). The damn samsung tv new model is even 7 months late and they won’t even discuss on phone (just a circle of useless phone agent phone calls). Bizarre in how these are being handled silently across the board.

I was able to push the car much harder than I expected. It explodes out of corners and is a total thrill. Naturally I had the suspension dialed up to max stiffness. This car is not just a straight line speedster that’s for sure. Windows were tinted today. I will be getting the car wrapped next week the a radar detector and laser jammer mounted in the front bumper which consider essential given how deceptive the speed is on this car.
Are you going with AL Priority system for the radar/laser? If so, would love to see pics and detail on passing through the firewall. I had one in my 2017 and went through the hole with the High Voltage cables. Would prefer an alternative, but that was all I found.

I put my order in just a couple of weeks ago, so I'm not complaining about my projected October delivery (non-Plaid), but it really seems crazy that it will take that long to work through the backlog of orders on what is a nearly $100k car. If they can average 1,500/week starting in, say, July, that would suggest that there are 20,000+ orders for the refreshed S. That might not seem like a lot compared to the 3, but the peak # of Model S's Tesla has ever sold in a year was 29,000 back in 2018.
