Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Not a delivery update, but somewhat germane as I am a "P"roduction series ....

My Delivery Specialist (Armen) just called me. I am P188. I will be getting the packet in the email today or tomorrow.

If you actually receive that packet, I hope you will post about it (or at least PM me). I'm R#129, and I have not received such a packet. When I inquired about an approximate delivery date, I was only told to expect the car this year, and to expect more information 30 days in advance of delivery. As I am now an 85kWh configuration, I can't see any reason that my car should be built later than the P series.

Tell me about it! I've been keeping a daily tally of people with higher reservation numbers that have gotten delivery dates. I'm making a list (think Steve Buscemi's charater in Happy Gilmore).

Steve Buscemi - YouTube

Sig 939, performance

While both are cinematic masterpieces, the movie was Billy Madison, not Happy Gilmore. I'm S249 (and several have inexplicably jumped me in line/received delivery), so I already have a list

I've had to let this go. Plus, for those with lower numbers, just because you haven't heard yet doesn't mean you won't get delivery before others who have already heard. Things are a bit hectic now for Tesla, and they're definitely learning as they go. I'm due to get my car the end of this month (October 26), and regular Ps are getting their cars the following week. Not comparing myself to others and just being happy my car is soon the be delivered keeps me sane. Serenity now!!

Only "several times" !

How did S-1299 jump ahead to get a VIN past 965 - 1298 ? Being S-1092 that bugs me a little ( just jealous is all )

I'm 905 and have been quiet as I've seen others passed over up to this point. This morning I sent an e-mail to two Tesla personnel expressing my concern. Got a call shortly thereafter agreeing that I had the right to feel concerned, but everything is going forward. Both answers were similar. Batching, awaiting parts, among others given as reasons. Not sure wich option I picked that allows others to move in front of me (Sig Red?, White leather?, Carbon fiber trim?, Gray performance 21" wheels?, Pano roof? Paint armor? No rear seats?)

I don't see any point in bugging them for updates - it's not going to make the car arrive any faster.

My 10 year old daughter asked if I need to be home to sign for the Tesla when it comes. I think she expects UPS to drop it off or something.

Also I don't know if the rest of you do this, but I find myself checking timdorr's spreadsheet several times a day to see if my car has been delivered yet.

I am not going to bug him any more...just checked in yesterday and got my response. At this point, it will either come by Friday or get pushed back. But soon it will be here.

I like your daughter's question, very cute.

I'm P83 and have still heard nothing.

A thought just occurred to me. I had thought because I'm doing factory delivery that it would assure being at the front of the cue. But because the cross-country batching appears to be so complex, I'm thinking that they are getting preference so as to get them on the road. And the factory delivery folks are slotted in when possible.

May be a logistical nidus.

You are "local", whereas I (P188) am in Texas. Let's say a few high numbered Sigs are scheduled to go out to Houston or Dallas and they dig in the paperwork to find a low P that is going there as well. Fill the truck, you know? So I get the call recently from Armen to let me know what the paperwork will be in my email today or Thursday. Being local, they simply roll the car off the prod line and do a local or regional delivery - a bit less hectic than a cross country drop.

Again, just thinking out loud here.

- just read your post which is my post, only said better.

I really feel for you Sigs. Logistics can be used as an excuse (a reasonable one to this point) by Tesla but, this is no way to treat folks who had locked in so much money for so long on mere faith.

Can there not be one person at the factory whose job it is to keep updating a spreadsheet of reservation number, VIN number (if assigned) and a delivery estimate (even a crude one) and send out emails atleast every 2-3 days to let Sig customers know that Tesla's still thinking about them? As has been said before, just a simple "sorry, nothing has changed in the past couple of days but, we haven't forgotten you" will make most folks happy, I'd think. Heck, I'll do this job for free in the evenings if Tesla lets me!

A topic for a different thread, but, I can't imagine why many TMC Model X Sig holders haven't chosen to drop to General Production yet. If I were in that position, I'd have done it eons ago.
