One side isn't bad, but the passenger side rear is misaligned badly. I don't see how it would be fixable since the panel lines up on the very top of the door, but the chrome trim is way off. I will send this pick to my service advisor and see what he says.

Thank you. Let us know. I've seen this on every single one delivered so far and figured it was a design flaw but who knows. Can't believe literally none of the probably dozens of people at Tesla who worked on this car saw this and had it changed.

well if thats the case, be careful not to speak as an expert on something you don't have time to research, and maybe one day, if you work hard enough, your business will afford you the time to do other fun things like mine has 😉

btw your posts crack me up!
Um, who said I was speaking as some sort of radar detector "expert?" Certainly I didn't come across that way; perhaps it's your "hyper" perspective on this issue? Glad some of my posts provide you with some entertainment anyhow. ;) BTW - your last comment I highlighted has got to be one of the most arrogant and uneducated comments I've seen on here. What my company has or doesn't have and what time it affords me when I'm not working is none of your business nor would you have any idea about. I'm buying my $146k MS Plaid via 1 payment in cash and my business has been 50% busier through Covid; been doing this business since 2014 after quite a successful, lucrative 20-year career as a cardiovascular surgical device rep for open-heart surgery. Your condescending comments are uncalled for and childish. Sorry you got "butt-hurt" by my simple comments about radar detectors; perhaps you're overly emotional about this subject? I don't know, but it all sounds like a personal problem that I don't care about.

Plenty of fun stories from the trip, but here's my favorite:

Along the drive, as I got closer to California, more people were interested in checking the car out. I'm happy to let folks take a look/sit/mess around, and quite a few did. So picture this...

I'm at the Baker, CA supercharger (a huge one), and chatting with a dude who is planning to upgrade his S to the refresh. He's sitting in the car when a San Bernardino sheriff's deputy rolls right up to us in his cruiser. The cop says "I have some questions for you", but is talking to him, since he's leaning out of the driver's door. The guy immediately says "talk to him!" and points to me (fair enough).

Considering I'd been doing plenty of spirited driving, I immediately assume I'm about to go to jail. So I walk toward the cop's cruiser and say "sure, what's your question?". He proceeds to spend 10 minutes asking about Tesla cars and saying that he loves road trips and is wondering if they are good on long drives. It was a friendly discussion.

However, he did deny my request for a police escort the rest of the way home.

I'm now at 3000 miles on the odometer and still my Plaid hasn't caught fire. I drove very fast, I did a bunch of random launches, and I even went through a few affluent neighborhoods, but not even a puff of smoke.

Jokes aside, the car is phenomenal. This thing is the epitome of a "grand tourer". It is so smooth and predictable, and the cornering is unnaturally good. I generally use autopilot for these long drives, but the car is so good that I was hands-on driving most of the time. five-stars-would-buy-again
What’s your lifetime consumption?
Also, I’d love to hear more about that “unnatural cornering “!

Just received the VIN for my Red MS LR this morning.

But unfortunately I'm out of town for a month and can't take the delivery.

What an irony!

Hope someone with the same config gets this!

Raise your hands if you have the same config as mine. ✌️

I last checked about 3/4 of the way in, but it was sitting around 388 wh/mi. But also consider that my average moving speed across the country was 81 mph, excluding charge stops. This thing is absolutely amazing at efficiency, and speed is way less of an impact vs my previous Teslas.

Edit:

The cornering was amazing. It took me time to get comfortable with it, but I definitely wasn't near the limits, and it easily took bends in the mountains like a composed sports car.

For what it’s worth, I have same misalignment on both rear doors. I was told fixing the top part will only make the remainder misaligned (see the bottom and back parts where the white edges are currently aligned. More importantly, they said the cabin is sound proof rated as-is and moving the panel may then expose more sound proofing items that will have to be handled. I just chose to live with it for now but the SC has a note on my account in case I want to go back and have them fix it and/or there’s a bulletin on it.

There it is, I was surprised you didn’t take the bait in your first posting, but I just had to be patient for the edit. I’m not the one “butt-hurt” here lol.

Nothing is quite as satisfying as waiting several months for a car to arrive, driving it for a couple of days, and then dropping it off at service for several weeks to fix all the issues they screwed up from the EOQ rush!

If I could actually get ahold of the service department I imagine mine is going [back] in. Sent something to my SA this morning to see if they could help, ghosting me.
