Tesla Model 3 in Australia

If the past is any indication of the future, Tesla will be busting their A to get as many cars delivered (worldwide) as possible by the end of Q3 to keep their reportable figures as positive as they can make them. This means recruiting current owner volunteers to help in that process.
If the rumoured 500 cars per ship is true and assuming thats spread over all of australia plus nz, it doesnt seem like that many in each city....providing they can clear them all before the next shipment arrives. I’m sure part of tesla’s somewhat random allocation process also considers a broad spread to manage deliveries more effectively.

Charging Adaptors — TSL43.info

The car comes with 10 and 15a adaptors.
One of the best charging summaries I've seen.
You could add that the version 1 Tesla UMC appears to be available from
US $758.03 9% OFF|Brand New OEM 1058220 00 E 1030035 02 B UMC Charger Charging Cable Harness and Adapter for Tesla Model X-in Cables, Adapters & Sockets from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group
for about AUD1000 which is a great deal cheaper than the Juice Booster.

Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance

There is no excuse for not upstaffing for this. The "delivery" specialists are literally redeployed HR recruiting people, accounting staff etc. Classic Tesla.
Also they don't need apologists. It's a company, not some grassroots movement.

I'm not an apologist at all, you have 2 choices they staff up with people who have no tesla experience for a short term surge or they roll the cars out slower.

What really stinks is if they say 'August delivery' or 'September delivery' and they do not fulfil that promise... that is much harder to forgive

True, though technically there was no promise to us as customers. The only thing Tesla gave me when I ordered was an "estimated delivery" date of "August". I want them to meet that, though would hardly be shocked if/when they don't. Estimates are worth a lot less than promises.

Tesla can satisfy their general/public claims of "August deliveries" by making a few token deliveries before the month ends.

n.b. Anyone ordering a Model 3 today will get an estimated delivery of October. So at least our cars should retain their value fairly well.

Later on I would love to volunteer for future end of quarter delivery rushes, though I am afraid I will have to miss the first one.

I would also like to offer as many people as I can the opportunity to experience driving in a Model 3 once I have my car.

I think of me owning a Model 3 is akin to how the Blue Brothers thought about their mission:

I am happy with either an "end of August" or September delivery time-frame BUT would just like clarity so I can rest easy with that info. Holding on to the current ICE SUV until we get that delivery clarification. Some others who have sold their ICE cars, I feel for them not having that clarification or delivery uncertainty from Tesla.

We placed deposit on 03/04/16 and reservation on 17/06/2019 for a SR+ RWD in deep Metallic Blue. If delivery is pushed to October, we won't be happy but won't even consider cancelling our order based on this. Big picture is patience, doing good for the environment, saving on ICE fuel consumption and dare I say it being the "cool kids on the block"? (first in our family/friends/neighbours group to get an EV).

My Tesla account just changed to include "delivery appointment at Melbourne-Richmond Sept. 17, 2019 at 04:00 PM Melbourne-Richmond 650 Church Street, Cremorne, VIC 3121" Since I'm in Perth its a bit strange but something is happening

Well spotted. Mine too.
