I bought a vedaprime accessory today. Arrives next week. I’ll share when it arrives.
It is not a pair of binoculars, camera or a sniffer dog.
Earlier in this diverse and 350+ page topic someone mentioned we might not need to attach an etag for tolls but I can’t find anything on the RTA or etoll websites for any exemptions etc of any type. Anyone found anything definitive?
The only thing I can find close to this is the linkt go app: Toll road app - LinktGO where you can use an app instead of a physical tag. They do charge 0.95c "service fee" for each transaction however. With toll roads as expensive as they are i'd rather the tag instead of give them anymore of my money.Earlier in this diverse and 350+ page topic someone mentioned we might not need to attach an etag for tolls but I can’t find anything on the RTA or etoll websites for any exemptions etc of any type. Thanks for posting this. I'm guessing lots of experienced folk on here might laugh but I'm actually quite nervous about getting used to the Model 3 despite a lot of reading of the manual. This was very helpful and reassuring.I got a call from a delivery specialist on Thursday and they followed up with an email later. The email contained a link to this private video:
I'm not sure if this vid has been posted before? Anyway, it seems pretty comprehensive. You can download the manual ahead of time and have a quick read so you know where all the key features are. That and this video should be more than enough, it's not like the delivery specialist will tell you anything more.

So I couldn’t help going back for another peek...
It’s likely that they’d have a list of affected vehicles, but I don’t see them just acquiescing on a new model.
The model S manual says to put the transponder on the back window which I've done and it works.I've got 5 different cars with no tags on my account. Trust me, their customer service doesn't care. You just say "the dealer told me I have a metallic windscreen". 30 seconds later, waiver applied.
If your vehicle has a metallised windscreen (e.g. on some European vehicles), your tag may have difficulty communicating with a toll point.

Just had a look at the video, haven’t seen it before. Great help Jas.S60, thanks. I’ve been feeling a bit frazzled as this will be our first EV - It’s given us confidence I’ll be OK with the change to EV.I got a call from a delivery specialist on Thursday and they followed up with an email later. On the Model S there is a small gap in the metallic layer just to the left of the centre mirror mount. I had to replace my toll pass before it worked, but the new one has been there for 3.5 years and works perfectly. I imagine the Model 3 will be the same.Earlier in this diverse and 350+ page topic someone mentioned we might not need to attach an etag for tolls but I can’t find anything on the RTA or etoll websites for any exemptions etc of any type. Anyone knows what that will do when I'm driving 100kms down the highway?
Nothing. Or at least as I understand it the car ignores attempts to change gears at speeds above ~5kph.
So it'll be more of an issue when stopped at an intersection. Especially if there's another car right behind you.
Now I know I'm going to flick the right/drive stalk accidentally many times since my other cars have all had their indicators on the right. That's going to throw me for ages. From what I gather that means I'm going to accidentally throw the car into autopilot every time I go to indicate right on the wrong stalk. Is that right? And I'm going to throw the car into reverse when I'm trying to indicate left. Anyone knows what that will do when I'm driving 100kms down the highway?
