If you really need one to use, give the customer service a call and tell them you are a Model 3 owner and know a potential Model S/X buyer and want to refer them but you don't have a code yet. I became an owner May 30th, didn't have a referral code, and my brother was about to order a new Model S and I wanted to have him get free Supercharging. Called them up and told them my issue, got put on hold for about 10-15 minutes, and then the dude was like "It should pop up on your account and I'll e-mail you the link, but you can write this down if you want it now....oh wait, there it is, should be on your account." Sure enough it popped up on my Tesla account on the webpage and then the loot box appeared on my app. Sent the referral link to my brother and everything worked out great. He gets free supercharging and I should eventually get a nice black wall connector.

I got 4 referrals last year and on October 18, 2017, received an email from Tesla that my 4th referral has taken delivery of their vehicle and I am being thanked with a founder series powerwall (see attached email). I immediately filled out the survey as I've been anxious to get this going for my home.
No updates so followed up in December, no reply.
Followed up in January and finally got a reply in February and told the following:
"Thank you for contacting us regarding the Tesla Referral Program. Delivery of Founder’s Series Powerwall 2 will be available in March 2018 as we are currently focusing delivery towards relief efforts in Puerto Rico. When installation in your area is about to begin, our Tesla Energy team will be contacting you with additional installation instructions. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns."
So I waited and followed up again a few weeks ago and get told this:
"I have pulled up your account to view the status, and I am not showing that you qualified for the Founder Series Powerwall. Do you have another email that your referrals could be under so I can look at this further?"
I log into my Tesla app and now I only have 3 referrals and nothing under cancelled. I remember checking my app earlier this year and still had all 4 referrals. So it happened recently of this "missing" referral. Possibly with all these new referral updates Tesla pushed. Now a powerwall is 5 referrals instead of 4.
I have argued with them and they keep denying my prize. I don't remember who the 4th referral was as I attended tons of car shows and events with my car and passed out my referral link to everyone who inquired about my car and were interested so I could get this powerwall.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your time..

I hope that this is just an unfortunate mistake in their back-end system. If this is intentional, they'll loose more credibility than it is worth.
I'd try escalating the issue to a supervisor or higher until you get the Powerwall installed.

This guy already has 6 referrals so looks like shameless posting actually pays off!
But almost every product specialist in Tesla store told me that the program starting from May 1st is a start over of previous phase. Which means you can get all the prize(toy car, hpwc, 21or22 wheels, powerwall) again.
