Downloaded 5.14 last night, same stuff as 5.12 just updates - hill assist, air suspension controls, etc. Nothing dramatic.
Yes, 5.14, not a typo. Never got a 5.13 that I recall.
I'm not the posting sort (more of a lurker), but my friend said y'all be interested in these. Hope it's the right place for them.
Enjoy, and aloha!
Pete.
Spoke to Tesla Service today and they said a new version of firmware is being pushed to customers starting a couple days ago. It should be fully distributed in two to three weeks. They said it includes significant Nav updates including traffic in routing.
Have you downloaded it? If so, please...
Had an interesting conversation with someone from my local SC, discussing how batteries are swapped out at the SC and owners' batteries sent back to Fremont for servicing or diagnostics. I asked how long it took them to swap out batteries, and he said up to 2-3 hours - when I expressed surprise...
Bonjour,
Plusieurs posts US signalent l'arrivée d'une version 5.12 (1.64.22)
- Quelqu'un l'a déjà reçu ?
- Qui connait la liste des nouveautés (à part l'histoire de l'ionizer dont le support reste à confirmer) ?

I was updated to 5.12 at the Highland Park SC today. The release notes remain unchanged. It starts the same as the other recent updates by explaining that it adds minor enhancements, then explicitly repeats the prior release notes.
This is collection of firmware wishes from different international forums. This list will be updated regularly .

So, I just got FW 5.9 on my car and finally Smart Charging works.
In the Netherlands such setups are very common. A house might have a 3x25A main connection and the Model S has to charge on that connection.
The problem is, that when the car is charging and you turn on a stove or other heavy...
Here is my issue: I updated to v5.9 (1.51.88) early yesterday morning, and ever since I can only connect with the iPhone remote app if I do it in the first minute or so of leaving the car. After that, it will try to connect for a long time and then display "A Connection to the Vehicle Could Not...
I'm ready to order a P85 but I'm on the fence in which suspension to get. I see that in Firmware 5.9 that the air was reinstated to be able to be put in low position. From what I knew before the air went to low at a speed greater than about 55mph, correct? I see that in Firmware 5.9 that you...
I just saw this post on reddit. Not sure about the validity of the post but hoping v5.9 starts rolling out soon (if it hasn't already).
Model S v5.9 Firmware - feedback? : teslamotors
From the post:
Got this idea from watching Bjørn's Norway Model S driving video yesterday and the new Parking In HK thread.
(from 18:41)
I think the guidelines can be easily added to the Model S firmware. For parking and for entering carparks.
You see, I mostly drive my sister's BMW 520iA to carparks and...
Last summer when my Alpine unit said it was time to upgrade I asked the folks at Tesla about it and they pointed me to this web page:
Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.
I couldn't find anything about my unit (IVA-NAV-10) so I called Alpine's tech support number. The fellow I talked...
Has anyone else noticed that the pano roof doesn't open the way it used to?
I haven't been opening it here in Chicago this winter :cursing: with all the cold, but opened it up last week since my wife had the heater up too high. When I touched to the 80% area, it only opened to 50%, and I had...
I got notified last night that a new firmware build included a fix for folding mirror issues, which I'd had in the past, and that my car got pushed to the top of the queue. It was waiting when I took it to work this morning. I'll get it installed tonight and see what's new.
Hallo iedereen,
Up until recently I have been using bluetooth for both phone and media with my iPhone 5 without issue. Occasionally I experienced bluetooth fade, which i describe as the audio quality during a call slowly diminishes until a point that neither party can understand each other. The audio turns into...
I'm pretty bummed out about this latest firmware release. My HPWC no longer works above 60A, ever. Every time I charge the car it quickly shifts into reduced power charging. Presumably this is because it detected "anomalies", but if that is the case it is either too sensitive or the...
A new thread to track the progress of rollouts over here in da islands.
Last night I was upgraded to v5.8.4 (1.49.57) which notes that the car will now reduce charge current if it detects voltage fluctuations. It says that it may reduce the charging load by 25%. So, if you plug in to a 40...
All,
Just updated to 5.8.4 (1.49.57).
Official update notes details that the car will now reduce charge current after seeing some voltage fluctuations making for a safer system. Pictures below:

PS, Sorry I can't figure out how to tag the picture to display upright on a PC, it...
In the last year over the air upgrades have made the Model S a much better product then the one we originally bought.
However, the 5.8 unilateral downgrade of air suspension is a troubling harbinger of the potential of downgrades.
There doesn't seem to be a Tesla corporate obligation that...
Any 40kwh owners get firmware 5.0+ yet?
I have 60/85 friend that got it MONTHS ago, I'm still running on 4.5 something and it hasn't prompted an update to 5.0+ yet
And there are talks of 5.5/5.6 etc?
I love the update! Wifi and map updates are awesome! I just got the dealer to update my car, and was wondering if the 4g antenna was activated? Mine still shows 3g but seems much faster. Thanks for thr help.
My wife and I made a quick little trip from Parker to the Tesla Supercharger at Silverthorne on Saturday. I had my Model S in the Denver Service Center this past week to get the tires rotated, take care of a couple of proactive TSBs, and get the 5.6 firmware installed.
We averaged 360 Wh/mi...
I notice on this video review at around 5:54 that they are supercharging at 114KW in Columbus, TX. Is this because of new firmware? I like how Tesla is just sneaking in the new charging speed.
Any ideas?
Update: The 6:54 was wrong. 5:54 is correct. Dyslexic moment. Too many fives.
A week ago, I thought I was one of only a handful still on 4.5, but today it sounds like quite a few people are. I'm just curious how far along Tesla is in their rollout of upgrades to 5.x.
I picked up my CPO #474 recently from Menlo Park and ordered the J1772 Can from hcsharp. Is there an easy way to check if the firmware supports J1772 without frying the battery? :-)
Is there a version number I should check?
Thanks.
Model S Firmware 5.x Bug Tracker
The goal of this Wiki is to collect the bugs in firmware versions 5.x.
Discussion on this FW version is here: Firmware 5.0 (Superseded by v5.6, see note below*)
First iteration of the firmware is (1.35.96)

Moderators: can we turn this post into a wiki so members can edit?
The goal of this post is to collect the bugs in firmware version 5.0 (we should add a build number here in case there are multiple versions as with 4.5).
For each bug we should also note whether it has been reported and whether...
A Houston owner that took ownership today reports that he was told he has version 5 with sleep mode...can anyone confirm that this is true?!
bobobrit | AUGUST 13, 2013
Picked up my new Pearl White P85+ this morning at the Houston SC (a week earlier than expected) and was told that it had the...
Premise: I personally love the "one pedal" driving that regenerative braking offers. Having had my car for 2 months & ~5,300 miles, with about 2,000 of those miles being road trips, I'm of the opinion that an option for having a mode that allows for greater than 60KW of "deceleration force"...
I'm curious - anyone get his brand new Model S in the US in the last few days? A 16xxx VIN number? What Firmware release did you get?
They clearly are shipping the European Models with 5.5 - and those are being made RIGHT NOW. So are they still installing the older firmware on the US models?
Firmware 5.5
FW 5.5 is confirmed in Norway. Including cold weather and wifi tethering.
Text in Norwegian but includes pictures and video.

Here is video proof that when Firmware 4.5 is installed, cooling your car (or heating it,) will get it's power from the wall - NOT the battery.

The firmware 4.5 release notes where just leaked on this forum.
What struck me was that they removed the "standard" and "range" mode, and just replaced it with a "% charge" slider. It is seems reasonable to assume that this will lead to much more charging to 100%, since there is no longer a...
I've been running 4.3 since March. Reading about 4.4 from other owners I alternate between (a) wanting it and (b) happy to not have it! 4.3 has been quite reliable for me and it added the timed charging feature.
Maybe I'll be lucky enough to skip 4.4 entirely and go right to 4.5 which (is...
Based on recommendations I read here, when I took delivery of my Model S, I purchased a Micro SD thumb drive and a 32GB Micro SD card.
I filled it with music and it worked flawlessly. I later upgraded the 32GB card to a 64GB card, and that worked just fine as well.
However, immediately after...
