CA Waiting Room

Just a heads up. I was able to get another $2,000 back in a rebate from CA. I applied in August and received my check last week.

Why are you sharing this in the "waiting room"? Many of us here have not received our cars yet and will not be able to get this rebate at this point.

"For Tesla and other vehicles ordered without a standard purchase/lease agreement, the date of first vehicle registration will be considered the date of purchase or lease. Applicants submitting a rebate application post-purchase must have taken delivery of their vehicle before submitting an application.

Applications received prior to the date of purchase/lease as stated above will be cancelled, and applicants will need to re-apply. Eligibility will be reviewed based on the Terms and Conditions in place at the time a new application is submitted. Extensions will not be granted."

I don't think so...

My Order says:
Subtotal: $63,990
Destination and Doc Fee: $1,200
Order fee: $250
TOTAL: $65,440

When I called Tesla and said asked if the $250 shouldn't be deducted, as they've already charged me the Order Fee, I was told no, it's added.

I still don't quite get it. If they charged me $250 to place the order, how do they add the Order Fee again? Unless, as I asked, they're going to be deducting it when my final payment is calculated???

For example, there's a California rebate of $750, that I'm told will be deducted from my total PRIOR to my paying for the car in full...

Anyone know if they got a credit for the $250 prior to paying for their Model Y?
Yes you do - for me it’s $1000 credit because of the $250 paid and CA $750

Bay Area MYP ordered in October pushed into Jan FEb for the first time. End range of EDD had always been 12/31 until today,

EDD changed to Jan 18 - Feb 15

If P's are getting pushed back to Jan/Feb, I'm fearful of what will happen to the LR orders who are entering their EDD windows are coming up in the next 2 weeks.

I had a chance to take delivery then my husband said wait. A couple hours later I changed my mind and responded im ready to go. I’ve got my X arranged to be sold next week.

Logged in an NOW saw a 3/21-4/18 delivery date.

4 months isn’t an option to be without a car. Trying to contact the store resource to see if they can help me out.

Original order date 11/20 MYP gray/black w/tow
Updated order date 12/8 MYP red/black w/tow

Got a text a couple of days ago asking me for trade-in information "in preparation for my upcoming Model Y delivery". 😁 I'm not trading anything in, but this little bit of contact was enough to push me to finally give my DC a call...just to touch base, you know? Anyhow, I spoke with my actual "assigned delivery specialist" and he said that he couldn't see any reason for my order to be delayed and that my car has a "forecasted completion date" of 12/23. He sent me an email in case I need to contact him with any questions between now and my delivery date. He was very nice, very helpful...and now I am very, very excited! No VIN yet though. Hopefully I will get it before the 24th🤞...bank is closed for Xmas 24-26th!

Actually, maybe I am wrong... I read this:

Funding has been approved for the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) and is now available for both waitlisted and new applicants.
The waitlist that started on April 23, 2021 has ended as of September 15, 2021.

I couldn't find anything preventing me from submitting a new application, so I'm thinking that I read this wrong. I'm going to give it a go once my car arrives and see what happens. Sorry @Vin_L!!!

You do need to have your car. They also require you to keep your car for 30 months or they will come back and request a prorated refund.

Just wait until you get your car. I think in San Diego you can pre-apply. No where else though unless something changed.

You also need to have your VIN. In CA that usually means you’ll have a car in a few days.

I hit F5 multiple times a day since order date just like everyone else.

Not putting in high hopes as I still don't have a VIN and I know it can change again. Just sharing as well that Octoberian MYLR orders are still catching up and not just MYP's

It would be effective 1/1, but it’s not in stone until senate approves or signs their own version. Any changes means the house needs to vote again
This is actually not true. The exact wording is 12/31 or the date the bill passes, whichever is later. As for why you wouldn’t just wait a couple weeks as someone asked:

1) A couple weeks is not set in stone. It could put you back six months. And again, what if you then come up at 1/14 and it’s still not passed (which it probably won’t be if you look at senate schedule - they have 10 days before then to get it done). It’s likely still not effective. 1/1 is not necessarily as magic as some say. Of course, nothing is set in stone and they COULD choose 1/1. Who knows.

2) it all depends on how likely you think the bill is. Some think highly unlikely so don’t care.
