Anyone in the San Diego, CA area receive a vin yet ? Also do we know if Tesla generally deliveries East before West coast ?
Yes, deliveries in the US started en mass about a week ago and they start as far away from Fremont as possible and gradually move in closer as the weeks go by. Small shipments/deliveries are made locally on the west coast but for the most part, large scale deliveries wonā€™t happen until the final few weeks of the quarter.

And I feel like a broken record when saying this but I know there are a lot of new folks: California, and even more so Bay Area orders, wonā€™t see a VIN until the last minute due to the proximity to the Fremont plant. East Coast May get a VIN 5-10 days before the car even gets to their service center due to transit times. It only takes a day, two at most, to transport within CA. The Dublin delivery specialist told me thereā€™s a good chance my car would be ready for delivery the day after it rolls off the factory floor. So donā€™t be too discouraged if you donā€™t see a VIN in the next few weeks. But get worried if you donā€™t see one in the final days of this month. :)

Good news - found a match at a delivery center locally and got that car. Bad news was I had to make that happen on my own. The match for my original config was in some sort of limbo. They couldnā€™t explain why I had a vin for a car that didnā€™t exist. They flipped me over to this one which is the same except has a white interior instead of black. Pick up tomorrow at 2:30. VIN 198xxx. Hereā€™s hoping itā€™s not a dog someone rejected.

Sometimes I feel like these guys (Tesla) are selling crack. Folks are bailing on existing reservations, paying $3k more just to get a car now rather than wait 4 weeks to get their order based on Teslaā€˜s unbelievably poor manufacturing and communication timeline.

You have to admire the fan fare that follow Tesla. Iā€™ve been patiently waiting since Feb 14 (3.5 months) and I know the last 2 weeks will be the hardest part. Iā€™m still a good 4 months out from expected delivery (Q3 delivery target by choice) and I feel like this is a true test of who a person is.

Appreciate this but the system really sucks. How about the EDD and SAā€™s donā€™t tell everyone a different story. How about we donā€™t make the customers feel like they donā€™t matter and also when they ordered doesnā€™t matter. I really thought this was going to be such a great experience. Order online. Pay one price. No haggling. Get the car exactly like you want itā€¦.yeah right, at this point this is the worst buying experience Iā€™ve ever had and Iā€™ve owned over 20 cars over 30years. Joke. And yes, I know I can just not buy it but unfortunately itā€™s still the car I want so I guess Iā€™m the sucker.

Also: Not directed at you at all. Just super frustrated.

Uhh I ordered 4/12. Yaā€™ll May orders need to get on the patient bus šŸ˜†šŸ˜†šŸ˜†
Tbh, haven't read your sig until now (mobile doesn't show by default). A myp msm should have been delivered by now... They must have shipped yours out of state. That, or the Burbank location is just scamming everyone. Not sure I've seen a car get there yet...

I was under the impression that myps got priority

Yeah my SA told me the same thing but clearly itā€™s all BS.

No offense taken. I completely agree with you. I was told early to mid June when I ordered on 4/9 and was perfectly ok with that. Had my dates not shifted around literally 30 times in that period, Iā€™d still be ok. But when you see dates that have ranged from 5/18 to 6/30, it gets super frustrating. They should honestly just scrap the whole EDD thing and if you get early, hooray!

More like FOMO turned up to 11. Prices keep going up every other week and every month they take something away. First it was radar, now it's the lumbar button. Wouldn't be as bad if they decreased the price to compensate. But if this keeps up, we'll hit a price of an additional $5k and have to manually lower and recline our seats!
