Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Not yet a teslanaire but headed that way, up 6 figures since Monday. Woke up at 4am to pee, saw the premarket action and took a 12 mile walk while the family slept to try to calm down. Congratulations to all the long term holders/believers, been a hell of a ride I can’t believe I never sold...

They said there is enough lithium in Nevada not the acreage they acquired, I’m sure they will develop or contract as many sources as possible which is prudent

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Lucid seems like a company for the old guy Cadillac crowd, event was so subdued and boring. Tesla is targeting tech savvy young people where all the growth potential is. Seems like a nice product but the whole thing was underwhelming which was disappointing.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

These stock gyrations have nothing to do with the company’s health and getting 5 billion to build factories at a near ATH is great. The jump after the stock split was absurd and in no way justified. I am long so just buying more as Tesla’s fundamentals are stronger now than a week ago regardless...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I bet the new advanced batteries are for new products (Roadster/semi/plaid power train) and the majority of the news is about scaling and cost reduction which is the major obstacle that Tesla faces. The batteries in the 3/Y are light years ahead of everyone else and a 25% cost reduction and...

Blog Leno Segment With Tesla Cybertruck Offers New Looks, Little News

It’s nearly the exact size as an F150 Supercrew but with much more interior and bed volume. You must not be in the market for a full size crew cab pickup which, like it or not is, what the cybertruck is. They will eventually make a smaller one but it would be unwise to make a midsize pickup as...

They will sell as many of these as they can build like the thing or not. I know a few anti Tesla Floridians that put deposits down because of the specs and price. Specs and price are enabled by shape and construction. This thing will own Mudfest.

    Tesla Cybrtrk

We much prefer the open view of the road especially at night. We had an S first and when we get back in one it seems strange to have the cluster gauge, if anything the gauge cluster is distracting IMO.

    Model Y vs. Mustang GTE

Had two Explores and a Ford bronco and two of them need new transmissions before 100,000 miles and on all of them the paint peeled off so there’s that. On our 2nd Tesla and in 5 years we have not needed to go to a service center once. I had a Chevy Malibu and wife had a Volkswagen Jetta before...

    Rivian Vs Tesla

I think Rivian has some really nice concepts and can’t wait to get in one to check it out but 700 million from ford and amazon doesn’t get you a decade of real world powertrain and battery research and development. Porsche spent billions and have much better engineers than ford and are still...

'Tesla shares sink as car deliveries drop'

We are on our 2nd Tesla ( a 2015 S and a 2018 3 ) and have literally never had a problem, never had any service done only added wiper fluid and plugged it in. People with issues make exponentially more noise than those who don’t. My wife had a Jetta and I had a Chevy Malibu before the Tesla’s...

Model Y body structure change allows a more unobstructed Pano view

In the model 3 the view is amazing from the backseat, the reason they moved the crossmember was the lower rear glass for aerodynamic purposes interfered with headroom. On the model y there is a higher roof line so you can go to the panoramic style roof from the model S. Both are great

TSLA Market Action: 2018 Investor Roundtable

The guarantee is a full refund if not delivered in time which cancels delivery and leaves Tesla with a new car to sell, seems to me the only cost to Tesla is the logistics of returning the deposit. It’s really a no risk offer for Tesla if I understanding correctly. They are not offering to...

    Rivian Automotive

They look awesome but not very aerodynamic, can’t imagine they will be even remotly efficient. I’ll buy one if they pull it off. Wish Tesla had done a straight forward SUV instead of the X.

M3 is a beautiful car, why doesn't it always photograph well?

There are some awkward / atypical proportions on the car namely the lowered hood that cause the greenhouse to appear more bubbled. This allowed for the excellent aero but with high belt line cars being the current trend the M3 can appear a bit abnormal from certian angles. Struggling on wether...

Standard features on the Audi A4 vs Model 3

Cousin rented a base 3 series when he came to visit. Loud clunky transmission and engine, the ridiculous start stop engine feature that would lurch the car forward when taking off and the ride was brutally hard. I might be spoiled from driving around our Model S but I would rather drive around...

How do you know what Supercharging speed you will get w/o plugging in?

You can't. It depends on your level of charge, how long you have been driving (the tempature of the battery), the ambient tempature, how busy the supercharger is overall and wether you are paired with someone. The local utilities throttle some stations during peak hours I understand. The charge...

    Model 3 RC sightings

That is the all glass roof. There will not be a panoramic front windshield in the 3, there is already a panoramic rear windshield needed for rear head clearance.

Getting seriously tempted by the i-Pace

Looks like a 4 seater. 220 miles of range, no supercharging and an SUV only seating 4 doesn't sound too compelling to me. Not bad looking tho they should sell a few. Competition is good

How much does Home Charging installation cost?

Best quote I got was $1000 for a 14/50 outlet. Father-in-law and I did it ourselves for $200 in parts in an afternoon. We had a pretty long run tho. Hide your Tesla and tell them it's for a dryer if you want a fair quote

    Thoughts On "Pseudo-Badging"

I did not say anything about cool kids, all high schoolers are insecure....because they are children. Might as well fish some expensive empty bottles of liquor out of the trash and fill them with the cheap stuff while your at it. Strange priorities but whatever makes you happy I guess.

    Model 3 Interior: Ugh!

The Model 3 is not Teslas "luxury", "cutting edge" or "expensive" model, It is thier mass market sedan. It's only true rival is the Bolt, a 5 seat electric vehicle with 240ish miles of range for 35ish thousand dollars, not a Model S. If I had to choose between the bolt or model 3 interior I...

Model 3 - Early Reservation, Willing to sell

We reserved a model 3 just in case it was a more affordable replacement for our model s because the timing worked out with our lease. But I'm not gonna lie that potentially making a profit flipping the car did not play a role. I'm sure there are a ton of people in this boat. No shame in...

Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

San Clemente - Would be shocked if it is not located at the new outlets. New infrastructure tons of parking and easy access from the 5. There are a number of food and shopping options and they are looking for a way to drive traffic. Also <1 mile from my house 101 W Avenida Vista Hermosa, San...

What Does the Sudden slow-down of the Supercharger Build Out Mean to the M3?

It would make sense to slow build out V2 chargers if the 350kw+ V3 chargers were close to being ready. For every stall you could halve the charge time you would effectively be adding an additional stall. Much more efficient way to add capacity to the network. Just a theory
