Everybody here seems frustrated... I'm in the same boat. If they can't meet the EDD's why have it at all in the account. It's better to remove it and keep us guessing (at least less anxiety IMO). The problem is we have been given hope and suddenly the hope gets slaughtered ( not once .. many times during the course of the wait :) )

Agree with one more member on the MYL white orders are high in May.

Details:

EDD is now July 23rd - Aug 5th as of today.
MY LR 5 Pearl White, Black, 19", no tow, autopilot - order date 05/14
Ditto. I've been thinking that since my order was placed in April. Haha. It's gotten to the point where I try not to look at the EDD everyone morning...

Well, the forum has certainly turned negative.

Believe me, I was hyped that I could have gotten my car last month. But it didn't happen. I don't think Tesla artificially creates a short supply like Nike or Supreme, or the stock will be killed in no time. Oh well. My lease is up in a couple weeks. I'm in desperate need of a car so I understand the urgency of having accurate EDD, but I'm sure Tesla is trying just as hard to pump the cars out. Tesla isn't forcing anyone to login and refresh, so all these frustrations are self-inflicted.

The main takeaway for any lurkers, members who ordered in May, June, July should be: expect an average of 70 days before getting your car UNLESS you added FSD, or got the Performance model.

As a point of reference, here's my EDD history:

Another day passes, EDD moves another day further

You and I have a similar build. Haven’t seen many MSM delivered, including the month of June. Clearly not as popular a color as the White. Hoping they do a “batch” of MSM soon. 🤞🏼
So true. I spoke with my SA the other day and she said they have been pumping out the white ones like crazy because that is the bulk of the orders. I hardly see any MSM on the streets. If I see another new white MY, drive by me, I'm going to scream.

Beside my EDD today is July 21- August 10, everything we had is same!

Same except I have Tow, but even the DC is the same.

Yea the SA's know nothing. Even the Delivery specialists only have information on the flow coming and what they have delivered, but not much else. Tesla manufacturing gives nothing out, except what we see.

So scream away.

Totally agree with this. There are a lot of factors and overall supply chain everywhere is still recovering from covid impacts. Try to buy a fridge, appliance, jet ski or just about anything right now…
That said, I still think 80%+ of people are getting their cars within the original estimated delivery window quoted at time of purchase. It’s easy to watch the EDD and get excited… I can’t help but refresh mine about 25 times a day too.

Wow this thread has definitely gone negative. I'm just reporting what I've heard. And it was a figure of speech. Christ...

Tesla definitely prioritizes the pricier configs. So Performance models, or orders with FSD get priority. Tesla treats the base model (white exterior, black interior, 19" wheels) as its step child, and delivery dates are all over the place.
Its sucks getting punished just because you actually like the base config. Love the white interior but we have our first kid on the way so didn't feel comfortable and went black. White exterior preference due to the look and eaiser to keep clean (ie. swirls). The Gemini's give a little bit more range. Don't want the performance model also because of the little one (I dont trust myself with all that speed - it's quick as is). I guess I could've gotten FSD but people are recommending against it at this point due to beta stage and subscription model in the future. And finally its going to be the family car and the wife is going to be driving it most of the time.

If this car was for me I would've gotten the black or blue performance model. (The black MYP is droolworthy).

Disclaimer: This is a general comment and not an attack on what you said. I know we have the same build 😛.

same here. i've always had white cars and prefer the simplicity of the white MY to the other colors. we struggle with keeping interiors clean so we need black. got gemini's for the same reason as you. definitely don't need performance and i'm good on fsd until it proves to be worth it. i find it a little funny that people on here are claiming that they are going to cancel their orders and consider other EV's when both the audi e-tron and the mach-e have current delivery wait times of 27 weeks, with various audi and ford forums complaining about the same lack of communication from the manufacturers and little to no consistency on which orders are being fulfilled. seems like this is an ev industry-wide issue at the moment. ultimately, i'm fine with waiting. i wfh and only use my current car to grocery shop, but totally understand that the delays are impacting people who had specific plans for the summer or leases that are up and i empathize with those folks.

This is just one story but a friend of mine had a kitchen disaster and has been rebuilding it for most of a year. Between flooring, appliances, and general installation hiccups, they are just now with a usable kitchen. Of course, much of that pain could have been avoided by going with whatever was in stock, and had any of us preferred other cars, we could drop in on a dealer and drive away - it just wouldn’t be what we really wanted.

I’m not confident 80%+ have been “on time” (no way to know, though), but it does feel like they are pumping out cars as fast as possible. The choices as to how many of what type also seem a mystery, but the thing that keeps me going is being able to see (through this forum) that, generally, we’re all in the same boat. At this point I refresh these pages like a maniac and almost ignore the Tesla account page! We’ll all get there…it’s just longer than any of us would like (and I include Tesla…if they could ship 1M cars/quarter I’m sure they would).

I think its been said before, if they just give an accurate time or come out and say it has been delayed for so and so reason, then people would feel better. But I guess they are busy and blowing everyone else out of the water with last qtr's numbers. Lack of communication is the problem I think. Anyways going to go back to waiting 😄. I know its going to be worth it when we receive it...nothing out there on the market that can compete or we want.

I hope my previous remark about seeing all the white MYs makes me want to scream, didn't offend you (if you even noticed it). I've just seen so many white MYs delivered in May and June that it was getting frustrating waiting for my MSM. I LOVE the look of the white ext and black trim of the MYs and think it looks like a wicked stormtrooper. To each his own, all of the colors look so incredibly good. There really isn't a bad choice with any Tesla! :)

No lol I didn't notice your previous comment. But you're right, the majority of Tesla's I see as a whole are white...I like to be different, but the white just looks so good 😀!

lol this is me - feels like every other car i see in sherman oaks is a white model y (but maybe i'm just noticing them more as i wait for mine). i usually have a burning desire to stand out and be different, but i'm surprisingly okay with being in just another white model y. maybe i'm getting old

Exactly. Tesla isn't the only company having products delayed. If you decides to buy any big ticket items, like I did with a $3,500 electric unicycle, you'd understand. China shipping ports were shut down last month due to Covid, Long Beach ports are delayed due to chassis shortage (containers are loaded onto chassis for truckers to haul out), which in terms lead to train carts shortage when a massive amount of containers are hauled out, which leads to no raw materials to build with. If you haven't gotten the idea, the logistics nightmare is real.
